Engine Front Cover Removal/Installation - 3.0L: Installation

Clean all sealing surfaces and position a new front cover gasket.

Position the engine front cover.

Apply pipe sealant with Teflon(R) to the bolts to be installed in the locations shown.

Install the front cover bolts.

Install the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor.

Install the oil pan. See OIL PAN BAFFLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - 3.0L .
Install the crankshaft front oil seal. See CRANKSHAFT FRONT OIL SEAL REPLACEMENT - 3.0L .
Connect the lower radiator hose to the water pump outlet.
Position back the A/C compressor and power steering bracket.

Install the bolts to the A/C compressor mounting bracket.

Install the water pump pulley.

Install the fan shroud and fan. See COOLING FAN AND CLUTCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - 3.0L .
Install the drive belt. See DRIVE BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - 3.0L .
Connect the negative battery cable.
Fill the engine with coolant and bleed the system. See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT - 3.0L .
