Removal (GF4A-EL)

- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Clean the transaxle exterior thoroughly with a steam cleaner or cleaning solvents. Drain the ATF. See DRAINING & REFILLING under LUBRICATION.
- Drain coolant. See COOLING SYSTEM BLEEDING in 2.5L V6 article in ENGINES. Remove the splash shield. Remove the oil cooler pipes and radiator hose. See OIL COOLER HOSES & PIPES (GF4A-EL) .
- Remove the valve body cover and gasket. Disconnect the solenoid valve and Transaxle Fluid Temperature (TFT) sensor harness connectors. See Fig 1 . Remove the valve body assembly. Note colors of connectors and locations for reassembly reference.
