Draining & Refilling

WARNING: When the transaxle and ATF are hot, they can cause severe burns. Turn off the engine and wait until they are cool before replacing the ATF.

Remove transaxle dipstick. Raise and support vehicle. Remove drain plug from transaxle oil pan and allow transmission fluid to drain into a proper container. If transaxle oil pan is removed, remove old silicone or gasket. Clean oil pan and install. Install NEW washer to drain plug and install. Tighten drain plug to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Add appropriate transmission fluid through dipstick tube. See RECOMMENDED FLUID  . DO NOT overfill. Start engine, and shift transaxle through all gears, ending in Park. With engine idling, check fluid level. See CHECKING FLUID LEVEL & CONDITION  .
