Section 221 (Symptom Troubleshooting [Automatic Transmission]): Foreword

- When the customer reports a vehicle malfunction, check the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) indication, AT warning light flash, and diagnostic trouble code (DTC), then diagnose the malfunction. See Fig 1.
- If a DTC exists, diagnose the applicable DTC inspection. (See DTC TABLE .)
- If no DTC exists, the MIL does not illuminate and AT warning light illuminate. Diagnose the applicable symptom troubleshooting. (See SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING ITEM TABLE .)
