Test D: Speedometer Inaccurate

  1. Ensure tires are proper size recommended by manufacturer. If tires are proper size, go to next step. If tires are not proper size, replace tires and retest.
  2. Check accuracy of odometer. See ODOMETER  under COMPONENT TESTS. If odometer is accurate, go to TEST E: SPEEDOMETER/ODOMETER INOPERATIVE (WITH 4-WHEEL ANTI-LOCK BRAKES)  or TEST F: SPEEDOMETER/ODOMETER INOPERATIVE (WITH REAR ANTI-LOCK BRAKES)  test. If odometer is not accurate, replace speedometer.
