Selector Shaft Seal: Removal

  1. Remove the transmission. Refer to: Transmission - 2.0L Duratec-HE (125kW/170PS) - MI4 .
  2. Using a punch, remove and discard the clutch housing plug. Use the General Equipment: Center Punch

  3. Remove and discard the manual lever bolt and remove the manual lever.

  4. Install the special tool on the shift lever seal. Apply pressure to the top of the special tool while threading it into the seal. Install Special Service Tool: 307-670 Remover/Installer, Shift Lever Seal.

  5. Using the special tool, remove the shift lever seal. Remove Special Service Tool: 307-670 Remover/Installer, Shift Lever Seal.
