Halfshaft Seal RH: Installation

NOTE: Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of corrosion and foreign material.
Clean and inspect the halfshaft seal surface for damage or debris.

NOTE: Make sure that a new component is installed.
Using the special tools, install a new halfshaft seal. Use Special Service Tool: 307-671 Installer, Axle Seal, 205-153 (T80T-4000-W) Handle.

NOTE: Do not fully install intermediate shaft at this time.
Using part: 97ZT-7M181-A.Insert the splines of the halfshaft through the halfshaft seal. Remove the special tool.

NOTE: Insert the intermediate shaft until the intermediate shaft bearing is centered in the concave groove of the intermediate shaft bearing bracket.
Install the halfshaft.
- Install the intermediate shaft bearing retaining nuts and strap ant tighten.
Torque: Stage 1: Lower nut: 44 lb.in (5 Nm) | Stage 2: Upper nut: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm) | Stage 3: Lower nut: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
- Position the ball joint into the wheel knuckle and install a new ball joint pinch bolt and nut.
Torque: 61 lb.ft (83 Nm)
- Position the brake hose and install the brake hose bracket bolt.
Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)
- Install the wheel and tire. Refer to: Wheel and Tire .
- Check the transmission fluid level. Refer to: Transmission Fluid Level Check .
