  1. Refer to Transmission Controls - DPS6 for schematic and connector information.

    Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

The BJB provides battery and ignition voltage to the TCM. If the system voltage is too low, too high or out of range during the self-test, the following DTCs may set.

    DTC Fault Trigger Conditions

    DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition
TCM P0702:00 Transmission Control System Electrical: No Sub Type Information This DTC sets along with P0882 and P0883.
TCM P0882:00 TCM Power Input Signal Low: No Sub Type Information TCM battery voltage is less than 9 volts.
TCM P0883:00 TCM Power Input Signal High: No Sub Type Information TCM battery voltage is greater than 18 volts.
TCM P0884:00 TCM Power Input Signal Intermittent: No Sub Type Information TCM battery voltage signal is out of range intermittently. This DTC may set along with DTCs P0882 and P0883.
TCM P1397:00 System Voltage Out Of Self Test Range: No Sub Type Information System voltage outside of the self-test range during the KOEO or KOER self-test.

    Possible Sources

    • Connectors damaged or pushed-out terminals, corrosion, loose wires and missing or damaged seals
    • BJB fuse 15 (25A)
    • Charging system

  2. H1 READ AND RECORD ALL DTCS

    • Using the diagnostic scan tool, run the self-test and retrieve the continuous memory DTCs from all modules.

    • Check for DTC U0101 set in other modules.

Was DTC U0101 set in the ABS or IPC module(s)?

    Yes  GO to  H3
    No  GO to  H2
  3. H2 CHECK FOR SYSTEM VOLTAGE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)

    Are System Voltage DTCs present?
    Yes  For DTCs P0702, P0882 and/or P0884 GO to  H4 For DTCs P0702, P0883 and/or P0884 REFER to: Charging System - 2.0L Duratec-HE (110kW/150PS) - MI4 2.0L Duratec-HE (125kW/170PS) - MI4 . For DTCs P1397, CLEAR the DTC and RERUN the self-test.
No  The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
  4. H3 CHECK THE BJB (BATTERY JUNCTION BOX) FUSE

    • Remove the BJB fuse 15 (25A).

    • Check the BJB fuse 15 (25A)

Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?

Yes  REINSTALL the fuse. GO to  H4
No  REPAIR the circuit. INSTALL a new fuse.
  5. H4 CHECK THE TCM (TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE) POWER INPUT CIRCUITS FOR LOW VOLTAGE

    • Ignition OFF.

    • Measure:

Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?

    Yes  GO to  H5
    No  REPAIR the circuit.
  6. H5 CHECK THE TCM (TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE) GROUND CIRCUITS FOR OPEN
