Air Spring: Installation

  1. Install air spring solenoid. Install air spring/shock absorber assembly, and fasten 3 upper studs through shock tower. Loosely assemble collar, and tighten nuts onto studs. Ensure solenoid socket for spring is pointing forward. Install lower shock mount to lower control arm, and loosely install nut and bolt. Tighten 3 upper nuts, and install shock tower cover. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table.
  2. Connect air line and electrical connector to solenoid. Install height sensor, and fill air spring. See AIR SPRING FILL PROCEDURE . Install wheel and tire assembly. Position vehicle on an alignment rack. Neutralize front suspension bushings by pushing down, then releasing front of vehicle. Tighten lower shock absorber nut to 118-162 ft. lbs. (160-220 N.m).

  1. Install air spring solenoid. Install air spring upper cap into 2 stud holes in body bracket and twist clockwise to lock in place. Install air spring piston 4 lower plastic locking fingers into lower suspension arm. Ensure all 4 fingers are correctly locked in place. Rear air spring will fit in either right side or left side. DO NOT inflate or pressurize air spring before it is correctly installed. Ensure air spring seats are installed properly.
  2. CAUTION: To prevent air spring damage, DO NOT allow vehicle suspension to compress before air springs are filled.
  3. Attach air line and electrical connector to solenoid. Replace wheel. Lower vehicle to 3" (76 mm) above floor. Refill air spring. See AIR SPRING FILL PROCEDURE .
