Installation Precautions

CAUTION: To prevent air spring failure during use, the following precautions must be followed.
NOTE: If any air springs are found to be improperly folded while in service on vehicle, replace unit. Properly folded springs will have NO creases or folds on surface. See Figure.
  1. DO NOT install or inflate any air spring that is unfolded. Unfolded spring must be refolded before installing in vehicle. DO NOT try to refold air springs which were previously installed on vehicle and not folded correctly. See Fig 1.
  2. When installing a NEW air spring, DO NOT apply load to suspension until springs have been inflated. See AIR SPRING FILL PROCEDURE .
  3. When replacing air springs, inspect height sensors and replace if defective. After air spring has been inflated in hanging position, inspect it for correct shape. Check ride height. See RIDE HEIGHT  under ADJUSTMENTS.
