Removal [08/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2022 - ]

    NOTE:

    After the ignition switch is turned off, there may be a waiting time before disconnecting the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

    Refer to BEFORE DISCONNECTING BATTERY [10/2022 - ]
  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 60 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

  3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17

  4. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 18

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10 [10/2022 - 10/2024] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10 [10/2024 - ]

  6. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11
  7. REMOVE FUSE BOX OPENING COVER 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13
  8. REMOVE NO. 2 CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [10/2022 - 10/2024] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [10/2024 - ]

  9. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [10/2022 - 10/2024] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [10/2024 - ]

  10. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [10/2022 - 10/2024] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [10/2024 - ]
  11. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14

  12. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 
    WARNING:

    When storing the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.

      1. Check that the ignition switch is off.
      2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
        WARNING:

        Wait at least 60 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      1. Remove the 4 bolts.
      2. Disengage the claw and 2 hooks to separate the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly.
        NOTE:

        When separating the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly, do not pull the airbag wire harness.

      3. Disconnect the airbag connector to remove the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly.
        NOTE:

        When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

        HINT: 

        Refer to How to Connect or Disconnect Airbag Connector.
