Removal [08/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM 
    1. except PHEV Model:

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

    2. for PHEV Model:

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  2. REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP 
    1. for HEV Model:

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - ]

    2. for PHEV Model:

      Refer to REMOVAL [08/2023 - ]

  3. REMOVE NO. 2 INVERTER PROTECTOR (for HEV Model) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  4. DISCONNECT ENGINE ROOM MAIN WIRE (for HEV Model) 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9
  5. REMOVE CONNECTOR COVER ASSEMBLY (for HEV Model) 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10
  6. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE (for HEV Model) 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11
  7. INSTALL CONNECTOR COVER ASSEMBLY (for HEV Model) 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8
  8. CONNECT ENGINE ROOM MAIN WIRE (for HEV Model) 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 22
  9. INSTALL NO. 2 INVERTER PROTECTOR (for HEV Model) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 18

  10. REMOVE NO. 2 INVERTER PROTECTOR (for PHEV Model) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  11. REMOVE CONNECTOR COVER ASSEMBLY (for PHEV Model) 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9
  12. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE (for PHEV Model) 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10
  13. INSTALL CONNECTOR COVER ASSEMBLY (for PHEV Model) 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8
  14. INSTALL NO. 2 INVERTER PROTECTOR (for PHEV Model) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 19

  15. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL RH 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - ]

  16. REMOVE FRONT FENDER MOULDING SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - ]

  17. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [10/2022 - 10/2024] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [10/2024 - ]

  18. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [10/2022 - 10/2024] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [10/2024 - ]

  19. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER RH 
    1. Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  20. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12 [10/2022 - 10/2024] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12 [10/2024 - ]

  21. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [10/2022 - 10/2024] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [10/2024 - ]

  22. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 
    1. for HEV Model:

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10 [10/2022 - 10/2024] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10 [10/2024 - ]

    2. for PHEV Model:

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  23. DISCONNECT SUCTION HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the suction hose sub-assembly from the compressor with motor assembly.
      2. Remove the O-ring from the suction hose sub-assembly.
        NOTE:

        Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.

  24. DISCONNECT DISCHARGE HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the discharge hose sub-assembly from the compressor with motor assembly.
      2. Remove the O-ring from the discharge hose sub-assembly.
        NOTE:

        Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.

  25. REMOVE COMPRESSOR WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY

      *a Connector (A) *b Connector (B)
      *c Green-colored Lock - -
      Slide - -
      1. Slide the green-colored lock of the connector (A) as shown in the illustration to release it and disconnect the connector.
        WARNING:

        Make sure to wear insulated gloves.

        NOTE:

        Insulate the disconnected terminals and connector (A) with insulating tape.

      2. Disconnect the connector (B).
    2. for Type A:

      Remove in this Direction - -
      1. Remove the bolt and 2 nuts.
      2. Using an E8 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 stud bolts.
      3. Remove the compressor with motor assembly as shown in the illustration.
    3. for Type B:

      Remove in this Direction - -
      1. Remove the 3 bolts.
      2. Remove the compressor with motor assembly as shown in the illustration.
