Removal [10/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. RELEASE PARKING BRAKE 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
  2. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  3. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER LH 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4
  4. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER RH

      1. Remove the 4 bolts (A), 3 screws (B) and clip (C).
      2. Turn the 3 clips (D) and remove the front floor cover RH from the vehicle body.
        NOTE:

        If the 3 clips are not turned when the front floor cover RH is removed, the front floor cover RH or stud bolt may be damaged.

        HINT: 

        Do not remove the clips from the front floor cover RH.

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 FLOOR UNDER COVER 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5
  6. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
  7. REMOVE ENGINE SERVICE COVER ASSEMBLY

  8. REMOVE REAR MAIN MUFFLER HEAT INSULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Bolt Nut
  9. REMOVE PROPELLER WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY

      *1 Center Support Bearing Damper *2 Center No. 2 Support Bearing Washer
      *a Matchmark - -
      1. Put matchmarks on the rear differential carrier assembly and propeller with center bearing shaft assembly.
      2. Remove the 4 nuts, 4 washers and propeller with center bearing shaft assembly from the rear differential carrier assembly.
        NOTE:

        Use wire or an equivalent tool to keep the propeller with center bearing shaft assembly.

      3. Remove the bolt, center support bearing damper and 2 center No. 2 support bearing washers (for rear side).
        NOTE:

        When removing the bolt, center support bearing damper and center No. 2 support bearing washers, do not apply excessive force to the universal joint.

      4. Remove the bolt, center support bearing damper and 2 center No. 2 support bearing washers (for front side).
        NOTE:

        When removing the bolt, center support bearing damper and center No. 2 support bearing washers, do not apply excessive force to the universal joint.

      5. Put matchmarks on the transfer assembly and propeller with center bearing shaft assembly.
      6. Remove the 4 nuts, 4 washers and propeller with center bearing shaft assembly from the transfer assembly.
        NOTE:
        • When removing the propeller with center bearing shaft assembly, do not apply excessive force to the universal joint.
        • During and after the removal of the propeller with center bearing shaft assembly, keep the universal joint angle straight (within 10 degrees).
