- REMOVE TRANSMISSION UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY

- DRAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID

- REMOVE TRANSFER HEAT INSULATOR

- REMOVE LOWER TRANSFER CASE PROTECTOR
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
- DRAIN TRANSFER OIL
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3
- REMOVE FLYWHEEL HOUSING SIDE COVER
- REMOVE DRIVE PLATE AND TORQUE CONVERTER SETTING BOLT
- Remove the 6 drive plate and torque converter setting bolts from the drive plate and ring gear sub-assembly.
HINT:
Turn the crankshaft to a position where the drive plate and torque converter setting bolts can be removed, and remove the drive plate and torque converter setting bolts while securing the crankshaft pulley bolt with a wrench.
- Remove the 6 drive plate and torque converter setting bolts from the drive plate and ring gear sub-assembly.
- DISCONNECT OIL COOLER TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE TRANSMISSION INSULATOR RH
- REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE INSULATOR

- DISCONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY
See step 2 - REMOVE NO. 1 TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE BRACKET
- SUPPORT AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY WITH TRANSFER ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE NO. 3 FRAME CROSSMEMBER ASSEMBLY

- DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET

- DISCONNECT TRANSFER BREATHER HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY NOTE:
- The transfer breather hose sub-assembly can be disconnected without tilting the automatic transmission assembly with transfer assembly.
- When titling the automatic transmission assembly with transfer assembly, do not tilt it excessively to allow the cooling fan and fan shroud to contact each other.
- DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS NOTE:
- The wire harness can be disconnected without tilting the automatic transmission assembly with transfer assembly.
- When titling the automatic transmission assembly with transfer assembly, do not tilt it excessively to allow the cooling fan and fan shroud to contact each other.
*a Transmission Wire Connector *b TCM connector Connector Bolt Pull Down the Lever While Pressing the Lock Pull Up the Lever - - - Disconnect the 5 connectors.NOTE:
- Disconnect the claw, pull down the lever, and then disconnect the transmission wire connector.
- Disconnect the TCM connector lever while pressing the lever lock as shown in the illustration.
- Detach the clamp.
- Remove the 5 bolts and disconnect the wire harness from the automatic transmission assembly with transfer assembly.
- Disconnect the 5 connectors.
- REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY WITH TRANSFER ASSEMBLY NOTE:
- The automatic transmission assembly with transfer assembly can be removed without being tilted.
- When titling the automatic transmission assembly with transfer assembly, do not tilt it excessively to allow the cooling fan and fan shroud to contact each other.
- Remove the 11 bolts and automatic transmission assembly with transfer assembly.NOTE:
- Do not use excessive force to pry out the automatic transmission assembly with transfer assembly when separating it from the engine assembly to prevent the knock pins from being damaged.
- When removing the automatic transmission assembly with transfer assembly, make sure that the oil cooler tube does not become damaged.
- Remove the 11 bolts and automatic transmission assembly with transfer assembly.
- REMOVE REAR ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR

- REMOVE TRANSFER ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE EXHAUST SENSOR CLAMP BRACKET
- REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET
- REMOVE TORQUE CONVERTER ASSEMBLY
- INSPECT TORQUE CONVERTER ASSEMBLY
