- REMOVE FRONT PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY

- REMOVE REAR PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY
Refer to REMOVAL [12/2021 - ]
- REMOVE TRANSMISSION UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1
- REMOVE TRANSFER HEAT INSULATOR
- REMOVE LOWER TRANSFER CASE PROTECTOR
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
- DRAIN TRANSFER OIL
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3
- SUPPORT AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY
HINT:
Support the automatic transmission assembly with a transmission jack so that it is stable.
- REMOVE NO. 3 FRAME CROSSMEMBER ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE REAR ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR
- DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET
- DISCONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY
- DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS AND TRANSFER BREATHER HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY NOTE:
- The wire harness and transfer breather hose sub-assembly can be disconnected without tilting the transfer assembly.
- When titling the transfer assembly, do not tilt it excessively to allow the cooling fan and fan shroud to contact each other.
- REMOVE TRANSFER ASSEMBLY NOTE:
- The transfer assembly can be removed without being tilted.
- When titling the transfer assembly, do not tilt it excessively to allow the cooling fan and fan shroud to contact each other.
- Using a transmission jack, plate lift attachments and a belt sling, etc., support the transfer assembly.NOTE:
Using a belt sling, etc., secure the transfer assembly to the transmission jack to prevent it from falling.
- Remove the 8 bolts and transfer assembly from the automatic transmission assembly.NOTE:
- Check the center of gravity while removing the transfer assembly.
- Do not drop the transfer assembly.
- Using a transmission jack, plate lift attachments and a belt sling, etc., support the transfer assembly.
- REMOVE NO. 2 GROUND WIRE
- REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET
