Installation [09/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL LOWER RADIATOR SUPPORT 
    1. Install the 2 lower radiator supports to the radiator assembly.
  2. INSTALL RADIATOR SUPPORT CUSHION 
    1. Install the 2 radiator support cushions to the radiator assembly.
  3. INSTALL RADIATOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Engage the 3 guides.
    2. Engage the 3 claws to install the fan shroud assembly to the radiator assembly.
      NOTE:

      Do not damage the radiator assembly when installing the fan shroud assembly.

    3. Connect the radiator reserve tank hose to the radiator assembly.
    4. Install the radiator assembly with the fan shroud assembly to the vehicle body.
      NOTE:

      Do not apply excessive force to the cooler condenser assembly or pipe when installing the radiator assembly with the fan shroud assembly.

    5. Engage the 4 wire harness clamps.
    6. Connect the cooling fan ECU connector.
    7. Engage the 2 guides.
    8. Engage the 2 claws to install the cooler condenser assembly to the radiator assembly.
      NOTE:

      Make sure not to damage the cooler condenser assembly when installing the radiator assembly.

  4. CONNECT OUTLET NO. 1 OIL COOLER HOSE 
    1. Connect the outlet No. 1 oil cooler hose and slide the clip to secure it.
  5. CONNECT INLET NO. 1 OIL COOLER HOSE 
    1. Connect the inlet No. 1 oil cooler hose and slide the clip to secure it.
    2. Engage the clamp to connect the inlet No. 1 oil cooler hose to the fan shroud assembly.
  6. CONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE 
    1. Connect the No. 2 radiator hose and slide the clip to secure it.
    2. Engage the clamp and connect the No. 2 radiator hose to the fan shroud assembly.
  7. CONNECT NO. 1 RADIATOR HOSE 
    1. Connect the No. 1 radiator hose and slide the clip to secure it.
  8. INSTALL UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Temporarily install the upper radiator support sub-assembly with the 7 bolts.
    2. Using a 10 mm union nut wrench, fully tighten the bolt (A).

      *a Torque Wrench Fulcrum Length

      Specified tightening torque 

      Torque: 12 N*m (122 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf) 

      HINT: 

      • Calculate the torque wrench reading when changing the fulcrum length of the torque wrench.
      • When using a 10 mm union nut wrench (fulcrum length of 22 mm (0.866 in.)) + torque wrench (fulcrum length of 180 mm (7.09 in.)): 11 N*m (112 kgf*cm, 8 ft.*lbf)
    3. Fully tighten the bolt (B).

      Torque: 12 N*m (122 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf)

    4. Engage the 4 clamps and connect the wire harness to the upper radiator support sub-assembly.
    5. w/ Smog Ventilation Sensor:
      1. Connect the smog ventilation sensor connector.
  9. INSTALL INLET AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  10. INSTALL HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [09/2015 - 07/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [07/2021 - ]

  11. INSTALL HOOD LOCK RELEASE LEVER PROTECTOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [09/2015 - 07/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [07/2021 - ]

  12. INSTALL HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [09/2015 - 07/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [07/2021 - ]

  13. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER COVER 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [09/2015 - 08/2016] , or refer to INSTALLATION [08/2016 - 08/2019] , or refer to INSTALLATION [08/2019 - ]

  14. INSTALL BATTERY 

    for 2WD: Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

    for AWD: Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  15. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2015 - 08/2016] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2016 - 12/2017] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [12/2017 - 08/2019] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2019 - ]

  16. ADD ENGINE COOLANT 

    See step  2, or see step  2

  17. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  18. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 67 [09/2015 - 08/2016] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 67 [08/2016 - 12/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 67 [12/2017 - 08/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 69 [08/2019 - ]

  19. INSTALL NO. 3 ENGINE UNDER COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 69 [09/2015 - 08/2016] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 69 [08/2016 - 12/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 69 [12/2017 - 08/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 71 [08/2019 - ]

  20. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 68 [09/2015 - 08/2016] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 68 [08/2016 - 12/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 68 [12/2017 - 08/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 70 [08/2019 - ]

  21. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 70 [09/2015 - 08/2016] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 70 [08/2016 - 12/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 70 [12/2017 - 08/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 72 [08/2019 - ]
