Removal [11/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:
    • Do not remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) except when replacing it.
    • When removing the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU), always replace it with a new one.
  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]

  3. REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13 [11/2021 - 03/2024] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13 [03/2024 - ]

  4. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15 [11/2021 - 03/2024] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15 [03/2024 - ]

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15 [11/2021 - 03/2024] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15 [03/2024 - ]

  6. REMOVE LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [11/2021 - 03/2024] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [03/2024 - ]

  7. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [11/2021 - 03/2024] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [03/2024 - ]
  8. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  9. REMOVE SHIFTING HOLE COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [11/2021 - 03/2024] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [03/2024 - ]

  10. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX HOLE COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [11/2021 - 03/2024] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [03/2024 - ]

  11. REMOVE NO. 2 CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [11/2021 - 03/2024] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [03/2024 - ]

  12. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12

  13. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13

  14. DISCONNECT HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14

  15. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16 [11/2021 - 03/2024] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16 [03/2024 - ]

  16. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]
  17. REMOVE NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL TO COWL BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  18. REMOVE ECU INTEGRATION BOX LH WITH POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting a wire harness of any component connected to the supply power of the integrated capacitor (integration control supply) or when removing the integrated capacitor (integration control supply), make sure to wait 5 minutes or more after turning the ignition switch off for self-diagnosis to complete and the voltage of the integrated capacitor (integration control supply) to discharge.

      *a Lock Lever - -
      Remove in this Direction - -
      1. Disconnect each connectors.
      2. Disengage each claws and pull down each lock levers and disconnect each connectors.
      3. Disengage each clamps.

      1. Remove the bolt, 2 nuts and remove the ECU integration box LH with power distribution box assembly.

  20. REMOVE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)

      *1 POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX *2 MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)
      *a Internal Connector *b Protective Tape
      Push in this Direction Insert in this Direction
      Rotate in this Direction Remove in this Direction
      1. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) using the following procedure.

        1. Press the lock of the power distribution box and release the lock of the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) as shown in the illustration.

        2. While pressing the lock, horizontally insert a thin-bladed screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape between the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) and power distribution box (near the internal connector).

        3. When the thin-bladed screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape is inserted, the internal connector lock is released.

        NOTE:

        Replace the power distribution box when the connector terminal, the locking section, or the case is damaged or deformed.

        4. Hold the rib of the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).

        5. While rotating the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU), completely release the lock.

        6. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the power distribution box.
