Disassembly [12/2017 - 09/2018]: Procedure
- PRECAUTION NOTE:
After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.

- REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY
See step 24
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3
- REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM UPPER COVER LH
- REMOVE REAR DOOR ARMREST COVER LH
- REMOVE REAR DOOR NO. 2 ARMREST COVER LH
- REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
- w/o Rear Door Sunshade:
- Remove the 3 screws.
Place Hands Here Remove in this Direction - Place your hand at the position shown in the illustration, and while pulling the rear door trim board sub-assembly LH toward you, detach the clip and disconnect the rear door trim board sub-assembly LH from the rear door panel.
- Pull the rear door trim board sub-assembly LH in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration to detach the claw and remove the rear door trim board sub-assembly LH.
Remove in this Direction
- Remove the 3 screws.
- w/ Rear Door Sunshade:
- Remove the 3 screws.
Place Hands Here Remove in this Direction - Place your hands at the positions shown in the illustration, and while pulling the rear door trim board sub-assembly LH toward you, detach the clip and disconnect the rear door trim board sub-assembly LH from the rear door panel.
- Pull the rear door trim board sub-assembly LH in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration to detach the claw and remove the rear door trim board sub-assembly LH.
Remove in this Direction
- Remove the 3 screws.
- Disconnect the rear door lock remote control cable assembly LH from the rear door inside handle sub-assembly LH.
Remove in this Direction - Detach the claw and disconnect the rear door inside locking cable assembly LH.
Remove in this Direction Push - Disconnect each connector.
- w/o Rear Door Sunshade:
- REMOVE REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY

- REMOVE REAR DOOR LOCK CONTROL KNOB BEZEL LH
- REMOVE DOOR LOCK CONTROL KNOB HOLDER LH
- REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY

- REMOVE NO. 2 COOLER THERMISTOR (for 4 Zone Type)

- REMOVE REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

- REMOVE REAR DOOR NO. 2 FRAME GARNISH LH

- REMOVE REAR CURTAIN SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Rear Door Sunshade)

- REMOVE REAR SIDE WINDOW COVER LH (w/ Rear Door Sunshade)
- REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS INNER WEATHERSTRIP LH
- REMOVE REAR DOOR FRONT BELT SEAL LH
- REMOVE REAR DOOR REAR BELT SEAL LH
- REMOVE REAR SPEAKER ASSEMBLY

- REMOVE REAR MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU LH
- REMOVE REAR DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER LH
- Disconnect the clamps and connectors.
- Detach the clip and remove the rear door service hole cover LH.
- Pull out the rear door lock remote control cable assembly LH and rear door inside locking cable assembly LH from the rear door service hole cover LH as shown in the illustration.
Remove in this Direction
- REMOVE REAR DOOR FRONT BELT MOULDING END COVER LH
- REMOVE REAR DOOR REAR BELT MOULDING END COVER LH
- REMOVE REAR DOOR NO. 2 WEATHERSTRIP LH
HINT:
When removing the rear door No. 2 weatherstrip LH, heat the rear door panel and rear door No. 2 weatherstrip LH using a heat light.

- REMOVE REAR DOOR QUARTER WINDOW GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
- Disconnect the front side of the rear door glass run LH as shown in the illustration.
Remove in this Direction (1) Remove in this Direction (2) - Remove the 3 bolts.
- Remove the rear door quarter window glass sub-assembly LH together with the rear door glass run LH as shown in the illustration.

- Disconnect the front side of the rear door glass run LH as shown in the illustration.
- REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS RUN LH
- REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
- Connect the 2 rear multiplex network door ECU LH connectors.
- Remove the plug hole.
- Connect the connector and temporarily install the rear door trim board sub-assembly LH.
- Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG).
- Move the rear door glass sub-assembly LH until the installation bolts can be seen.
- Turn the engine switch off.
- Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.WARNING:
- Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the battery negative (-) terminal to disable the SRS system.
- If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.
NOTE:When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
Refer to INITIALIZATION [12/2017 - 09/2018]
- Disconnect the connector and remove the rear door trim board sub-assembly LH.
- Remove the rear multiplex network door ECU LH.
- Remove the 2 bolts and the rear door glass sub-assembly LH from the rear door window regulator sub-assembly LH.
Remove in this Direction NOTE:Do not damage the rear door glass sub-assembly LH.
- Connect the 2 rear multiplex network door ECU LH connectors.
- REMOVE REAR DOOR FRONT WINDOW GUIDE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
- REMOVE REAR DOOR REAR WINDOW FRAME LH
- Set a 4.0 mm diameter drill bit into an air drill.
- Wind vinyl tape around the 4.0 mm diameter drill bit 5.0 mm from the tip of the drill.
*a Wind Vinyl Tape Standard Value
Area Standard Value A 5.0 mm (0.197 in.) HINT:
Wind vinyl tape around the drill bit to prevent drilling too deep.
- Lightly press the air drill against the rivets, drill off the flanges of the rivets and remove the 4 rivets.WARNING:
Be careful of the drilled rivets as they are hot
NOTE:- Pressing the air drill excessively will cause the rivet to turn and result in the rivet not being drilled.
- Do not pry the rivet with the air drill. This may cause damage to the installation hole of the rivet or the drill bit.
- Wear protective glasses.
- Detach the clip and remove the rear door rear window frame LH.NOTE:
Do not damage the vehicle body with the rear door rear window frame LH.
- REMOVE REAR DOOR BELT MOULDING SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

- REMOVE REAR DOOR NO. 3 GLASS RUN LH

- REMOVE REAR DOOR UPPER WINDOW FRAME MOULDING LH

- REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR ASSEMBLY LH
- Disconnect the connector.
- Remove the 6 nuts and the rear door window regulator sub-assembly LH.
Nut Connector NOTE:Do not damage the rear door panel assembly with the rear door window regulator sub-assembly LH.
HINT:
When removing the rear door window regulator sub-assembly LH, pull it out from the service hole as shown in the illustration.

- REMOVE REAR DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH

- Using a thin-bladed screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, detach the claw and disconnect the connector cover as shown in the illustration.
Remove in this Direction Protective Tape - Using a thin-bladed screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, disconnect the connector as shown in the illustration.
Protective Tape - Detach the holder as shown in the illustration.
*1 Holder Remove in this Direction - Remove the rear door outside handle assembly LH in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration.
Remove in this Direction
- Using a thin-bladed screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, detach the claw and disconnect the connector cover as shown in the illustration.
- REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER LH
- REMOVE REAR DOOR FRONT OUTSIDE HANDLE PAD
- REMOVE REAR DOOR REAR OUTSIDE HANDLE PAD
- REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
- REMOVE REAR DOOR CHECK ASSEMBLY LH
- REMOVE REAR DOOR WEATHERSTRIP LH
- REMOVE REAR DOOR NO. 5 WEATHERSTRIP LH
