Removal [10/2022 - 10/2023]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION (w/ Hands Free Power Trunk Lid) 
    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2020 - 10/2023]

  2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Hands Free Power Trunk Lid) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 25

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL (w/ Hands Free Power Trunk Lid) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

    WARNING:
    • Wait at least 60 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
    • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

  4. REMOVE REAR BUMPER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  5. REMOVE NO. 3 LUGGAGE ROOM WIRE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  6. REMOVE REAR CORNER ULTRASONIC SENSOR 
    1. Detach the claw and remove the rear corner ultrasonic sensor.
      NOTE:

      Before removing the sensor, make sure to mark the sensor and rear bumper assembly so that each sensor can be returned to its original position.

  7. REMOVE REAR CORNER ULTRASONIC SENSOR RETAINER 

    HINT: 

    When removing the rear corner ultrasonic sensor retainer, heat the rear bumper assembly and rear corner ultrasonic sensor retainer using a heat light.

    1. Heat the rear bumper assembly and rear corner ultrasonic sensor retainer using a heat light.
      WARNING:
      • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts.
      • Touching the heat light may result in burns.
      • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

    2. Remove the rear corner ultrasonic sensor retainer.

  8. REMOVE ULTRASONIC SENSOR CLIP 
    1. Detach the claw and remove ultrasonic sensor clip.

  9. REMOVE REAR CENTER ULTRASONIC SENSOR 
    1. Detach the claw and remove the rear center ultrasonic sensor.
      NOTE:

      Before removing the sensor, make sure to mark the sensor and rear bumper assembly so that each sensor can be returned to its original position.

  10. REMOVE REAR CENTER ULTRASONIC SENSOR RETAINER 

    HINT: 

    When removing the rear center ultrasonic sensor retainer, heat the rear bumper assembly and rear center ultrasonic sensor retainer using a heat light.

    1. Heat the rear bumper assembly and rear corner ultrasonic sensor retainer using a heat light.
      WARNING:
      • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts.
      • Touching the heat light may result in burns.
      • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

    2. Remove the rear center ultrasonic sensor retainer.

  11. REMOVE REAR ULTRASONIC SENSOR CLIP 

    HINT: 

    • Use the same procedure for the other rear ultrasonic sensor clip.
    • When removing the rear ultrasonic sensor clip, heat the rear bumper assembly and rear ultrasonic sensor clip using a heat light.
    1. Heat the rear bumper assembly and rear ultrasonic sensor clip using a heat light.
      WARNING:
      • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts.
      • Touching the heat light may result in burns.
      • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

  12. REMOVE ULTRASONIC SENSOR CUSHION SET 

    HINT: 

    Only perform this procedure when removing and installing the ultrasonic sensor cushion set.

    1. Remove the ultrasonic sensor cushion set as shown in the illustration.
