Removal [01/2017 - 05/2023]: Procedure
- PRECAUTION WARNING:
Be sure to read precaution thoroughly before servicing.

NOTE:After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

- REMOVE NO. 2 DECK BOARD
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 [01/2017 - 01/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12 [01/2021 - 05/2023]
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
WARNING:- Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
- If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.
NOTE:When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

- REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

- REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY WARNING:
Deployment Side - When storing the lower No. 2 instrument panel airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.
- If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.
- Check that the power switch is off.
- Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
Remove the 3 bolts.
Remove in this Direction Place Hands Here Place your hand at the position shown in the illustration and pull toward the rear of the vehicle to detach the claw and pull out the No. 2 lower instrument panel airbag assembly.
- Tilt the lower No. 2 instrument panel airbag assembly toward the seat and support it with one hand.
*a Lock Button Protective Tape - Using a thin-bladed screwdriver wrapped with protective tape, release the lock button and disconnect the airbag connector.
- Using a thin-bladed screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, disconnect the clamp and remove the No. 2 lower instrument panel airbag assembly.
