Disassembly [03/2017 - 06/2019]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE NO. 3 LUGGAGE ROOM WIRE 
    1. w/ Intuitive Parking Assist System:

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

    2. w/o Intuitive Parking Assist System:

      1. Disconnect the 3 connectors.
      2. Detach the clamps and remove the No. 3 luggage room wire.
  2. REMOVE REAR CORNER ULTRASONIC SENSOR (w/ Intuitive Parking Assist System) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  3. REMOVE REAR CORNER ULTRASONIC SENSOR RETAINER (w/ Intuitive Parking Assist System) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  4. REMOVE REAR CENTER ULTRASONIC SENSOR (w/ Intuitive Parking Assist System) 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the rear corner ultrasonic sensor.

  5. REMOVE REAR CENTER ULTRASONIC SENSOR RETAINER (w/ Intuitive Parking Assist System) 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the rear corner ultrasonic sensor retainer.

  6. REMOVE ULTRASONIC SENSOR CLIP 

    HINT: 

    • Perform this step only when necessary.
    • Use the same procedure for each ultrasonic sensor clip.

    Standard

    Rear Bumper Cover 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
    Ultrasonic Sensor Clip 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
    WARNING:
    • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts.
    • Touching the heat light may result in burns.

    1. Using a heat light, heat the rear bumper cover and ultrasonic sensor clip.

      Remove the ultrasonic sensor clip.

  7. REMOVE BACK-UP LIGHT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  8. REMOVE LICENSE PLATE LIGHT SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the retainer.

    2. Detach the claws and remove the license plate light sub-assembly.
  9. REMOVE NO. 1 MOULDING TAPE 

    HINT: 

    When removing the No. 1 moulding tape, heat the rear bumper cover and No. 1 moulding tape using a heat light.

    Standard

    Rear Bumper Cover 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
    No. 1 Moulding Tape
    WARNING:
    • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts.

    1. Using a heat light, heat the rear bumper cover and No. 1 moulding tape.
    2. for Type A:
      1. Remove the No. 1 moulding tape.

        Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

    3. for Type B:
      1. Remove the No. 1 moulding tape.

    4. for Type C:
      1. Remove the No. 1 moulding tape.

  10. REMOVE REAR BUMPER PIECE LH 
    1. Detach the claws.

      Remove in this Direction
    2. Detach the anti-drop hook and remove the rear bumper piece LH as shown in the illustration.
  11. REMOVE REAR BUMPER PIECE RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  12. REMOVE REAR BUMPER EXTENSION SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the 4 screws.

    2. Remove the 4 grommets.

      Remove in this Direction
    3. Remove the rear bumper extension sub-assembly LH as shown in the illustration.
  13. REMOVE REAR BUMPER EXTENSION SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  14. REMOVE REAR BUMPER CENTER EXTENSION SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 6 screws.

    2. Remove the 2 clips.
    3. Detach the guides and claws and remove the rear bumper center extension sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

  15. REMOVE REAR BUMPER CENTER PAD 

    HINT: 

    When removing the rear bumper center pad, heat the rear bumper cover and rear bumper center pad using a heat light.

  16. REMOVE REAR BUMPER NO. 1 PAD 

    HINT: 

    When removing the rear bumper No. 1 pad, heat the rear bumper cover and rear bumper No. 1 pad using a heat light.

  17. REMOVE REAR BUMPER PAD 

    HINT: 

    When removing the rear bumper pad, heat the rear bumper cover and rear bumper pad using a heat light.

  18. REMOVE REFLEX REFLECTOR ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the screw.

    2. Detach the claw and remove the reflex reflector assembly LH.

  19. REMOVE REFLEX REFLECTOR ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

    2. Detach the claws and remove the rear bumper extension LH.

  21. REMOVE REAR BUMPER EXTENSION RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  22. REMOVE REAR BUMPER EXTENSION 
    1. Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Detach the claws and remove the rear bumper extension.
  23. REMOVE REAR BUMPER CORNER EXTENSION LH 
    1. Remove the 3 screws.

      Turn Direction
    2. Detach the claws.
    3. With the guides as a starting point, turn the rear bumper corner extension LH to detach the clips and guides and remove the rear bumper corner extension LH as shown in the illustration.
  24. REMOVE REAR BUMPER CORNER EXTENSION RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  25. REMOVE REAR BUMPER PAD INSERT 

    HINT: 

    When removing the rear bumper pad insert, heat the rear bumper corner extension LH and rear bumper pad insert using a heat light.

    2. Remove the rear bumper pad insert.

  26. REMOVE REAR BUMPER NO. 3 PAD 

    HINT: 

    When removing the rear bumper No. 3 pad, heat the rear bumper corner extension LH and rear bumper No. 3 pad using a heat light.

  27. REMOVE REAR BUMPER NO. 2 PAD 

    HINT: 

    When removing the rear bumper No. 2 pad, heat the rear bumper corner extension LH and rear bumper No. 2 pad using a heat light.

    1. Detach the clips and claw and remove the rear bumper No. 2 side support LH.

  34. REMOVE REAR BUMPER ARM REINFORCEMENT LH 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts.

    2. Detach the guide and remove the rear bumper arm reinforcement LH.
  35. REMOVE REAR BUMPER ARM REINFORCEMENT RH 

    HINT:

  36. REMOVE REAR BUMPER BAR REINFORCEMENT LH 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and rear bumper bar reinforcement LH.
