Removal [07/2020 - 05/2023]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER 

    Refer to REMOVAL [07/2020 - 05/2023]

  2. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  3. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14

  5. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER REINFORCEMENT 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and engine under cover reinforcement from the strut bar bracket support sub-assembly.

  6. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11

  7. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT TO CROSSMEMBER BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14

  8. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT TO CROSSMEMBER BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13

  9. REMOVE AIR CLEANER WITH ELEMENT ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 29

  10. REMOVE AIR CLEANER WITH ELEMENT ASSEMBLY RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 28

  11. DISCONNECT NO. 2 PCV HOSE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  12. DISCONNECT NO. 3 PCV HOSE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  13. REMOVE AIR CLEANER HOSE ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  14. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  15. REMOVE NO. 2 FRONT BUMPER REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 6 nuts and No. 2 front bumper reinforcement sub-assembly.

  16. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT EXTENSION LH 
    1. Remove the 3 screws and disconnect the front bumper fender liner LH from the radiator support extension LH.

    2. Remove the 3 screws, detach the 2 claws and remove the radiator support extension LH from the radiator support opening cover.

  17. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT EXTENSION RH 
    1. Remove the 3 screws and disconnect the front fender liner RH from the radiator support extension RH.

    2. Remove the 3 screws, detach the 2 claws and remove the radiator support extension RH from the radiator support opening cover.

  18. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER 
    1. Remove the 4 screws, detach the 3 claws and remove the radiator support opening cover from the front cross member sub-assembly.

  19. REMOVE LOWER ARM BRACKET BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 22

  20. REMOVE LOWER ARM BRACKET BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 21

  21. REMOVE HOOD LOCK RELEASE LEVER PROTECTOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  22. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  23. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  24. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17

  25. REMOVE RADIATOR RESERVE TANK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the 2 connectors, detach the 2 wire harness clamps to disconnect the engine room main wire from the radiator reserve tank assembly.

    2. Slide the clip and disconnect the radiator reserve tank hose from the radiator assembly.

    3. Detach the 2 clamps and disconnect the reserve tank hose from the fan with motor assembly.
    4. Slide the clip and remove the radiator reserve tank hose from the radiator reserve tank assembly.

    5. Slide the clip and disconnect the reserve tank outlet hose from the radiator reserve tank assembly.
    6. Remove the 2 bolts, clip and radiator reserve tank assembly from the fan with motor assembly.

  26. DISCONNECT NO. 1 RADIATOR HOSE 
    1. Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 1 radiator hose from the front water by-pass joint.

  27. DISCONNECT NO. 3 RADIATOR HOSE 
    1. Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 3 radiator hose from the water inlet with thermostat sub-assembly.

  28. DISCONNECT TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER HOSE 
    1. Slide the clip and disconnect the transmission oil cooler hose from the radiator assembly.

  29. DISCONNECT NO. 3 ENGINE WIRE 
    1. Detach the 2 wire harness clamps, claw and remove the 2 bolts and No. 3 engine wire.

  30. DISCONNECT NO. 1 OIL COOLER INLET HOSE 
    1. Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 1 oil cooler inlet hose from the radiator assembly.

  31. DISCONNECT WATER BY-PASS HOSE 
    1. Slide the clip and disconnect the water by-pass hose from the oil cooler assembly.

      NOTE:

      Do not deform the oil cooler assembly.

  32. DISCONNECT ENGINE ROOM MAIN WIRE 
    1. Detach the 3 wire harness clamps, and disconnect the 4 connectors and engine room main wire.

  33. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 5 bolts and upper radiator support sub-assembly.

  34. REMOVE HOOD LOCK SUPPORT BRACE 
    1. Remove the bolt and hood lock support brace from the front crossmember sub-assembly.

  35. DISCONNECT LIQUID TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY A 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 26

  36. DISCONNECT DISCHARGE HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the discharge hose from the cooler compressor assembly.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 18

    2. Disconnect the discharge hose from the cooler condenser assembly.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 27

  37. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Detach the 2 claws, 2 guides and disconnect the cooler condenser assembly from the radiator assembly.

      NOTE:

      Do not allow the cooler condenser assembly to interfere with the radiator assembly.

    2. Remove the 6 bolts and front crossmember sub-assembly.
      NOTE:

      Perform the following procedure with 2 or more people to prevent damage to the radiator assembly.

    3. Remove the radiator assembly from the vehicle together with the fan with motor assembly as shown in the illustration.
      NOTE:

      When removing the radiator assembly from the vehicle, do not apply excessive force to the cooler pipe or cooling hoses.

      Remove in this Direction
  38. REMOVE REAR RADIATOR SIDE AIR GUIDE PLATE LH 
    1. Detach the 3 claws and remove the rear radiator side air guide plate LH.

  39. REMOVE NO. 1 RADIATOR HOSE 
    1. Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 2 radiator hose sub-assembly from the No. 1 radiator pipe.

    2. Detach the radiator hose clamp and No. 1 radiator hose from the fan with motor assembly.

    3. Slide the clip and remove the No. 1 radiator hose from the radiator assembly.
  40. REMOVE NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the bolt, clip and No. 2 radiator hose sub-assembly from the radiator assembly.

  41. REMOVE DISCHARGE HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Detach the clamp and remove the discharge hose sub-assembly from the fan with motor assembly.

  42. REMOVE REAR RADIATOR SIDE AIR GUIDE PLATE RH 
    1. Detach the 2 claws and remove the rear radiator side air guide plate RH.

  43. REMOVE RADIATOR HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 clips, clamp and the radiator hose sub-assembly from the radiator assembly.

  44. REMOVE NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE 
    1. Slide the clip and remove the No. 2 radiator hose from the radiator assembly.

  45. REMOVE FAN WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts, detach the 2 guides and remove the fan with motor assembly from the radiator assembly.

  46. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT CUSHION 
    1. Remove the 2 radiator support cushions from the radiator assembly.
  47. REMOVE LOWER RADIATOR SUPPORT 
    1. Remove the 2 lower radiator supports from the radiator assembly.
  48. REMOVE NO. 1 RADIATOR TO SUPPORT SEAL 
    1. Remove the 2 No. 1 radiator to support seals from the radiator assembly.
  49. REMOVE NO. 2 RADIATOR TO SUPPORT SEAL 
    1. Remove the No. 2 radiator to support seal from the radiator assembly.
  50. REMOVE NO. 3 RADIATOR TO SUPPORT SEAL 
    1. Remove the No. 3 radiator to support seal from the radiator assembly.
  51. REMOVE NO. 4 RADIATOR TO SUPPORT SEAL 
    1. Remove the No. 2 radiator to support seal from the radiator assembly.
  52. REMOVE NO. 5 RADIATOR TO SUPPORT SEAL 
    1. Remove the No. 5 radiator to support seal from the radiator assembly.
