Installation [10/2018 - 07/2022]: Procedure
- INSTALL TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY NOTE:
Before installing the transmission control cable assembly, check that the shift lever is in N.
- Turn the transmission control shaft lever clockwise until it stops, then turn it counterclockwise 2 notches.
*a N - Pass the transmission control cable assembly into the vehicle and install the transmission control cable assembly to the vehicle body with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf/cm, 44 in.lbf)
- Engage the guide to connect the transmission control cable assembly to vehicle body.
- Install the nut.
Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf/cm, 44 in.lbf)
- Install the transmission control cable assembly to the No. 1 transmission control cable bracket with a new clip.
*a Correct *b Incorrect Connect the transmission control cable assembly to the transmission control shaft lever as shown in the illustration.
*1 Adjuster Case *2 Adjuster Case Cover Slide the adjuster case cover in the direction shown by the arrow.
- Using a precision screwdriver, pull out the lock piece of the adjuster case.
*1 Adjuster Case *2 Lock Piece - Turn the lock nut of the transmission control cable assembly counterclockwise. While holding the lock nut, push in the stopper.
*1 Lock Nut *2 Stopper *a Push in - Connect the transmission control cable assembly to the transmission floor shift assembly.NOTE:
After installation, check that the outer part of the stopper is as shown in the illustration.
*1 Stopper - Connect the transmission control cable assembly to the transmission floor shift assembly.NOTE:
- Push the end of the transmission control cable assembly all the way to the base of the transmission floor shift assembly pin.
- Connect the transmission control cable assembly so that the lock piece faces the driver side.
- Using your fingers, gently pull the cable rod towards the rear of the vehicle to remove backlash.
*1 Cable Rod - Push in the lock piece of the adjuster case to lock it.
*1 Lock Piece *2 Adjuster Case - Move the adjuster case cover in the direction shown by the arrow.NOTE:
If the adjuster case cover is not moved far enough so that the adjuster case cover engages the lock piece, the cable will not be able to lock, and reliable shift operation will not be possible.

- Turn the transmission control shaft lever clockwise until it stops, then turn it counterclockwise 2 notches.
- INSTALL NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX DUCT
- Install the No. 1 console box duct to the vehicle body with the clip.
- INSTALL NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX DUCT
- Install the No. 2 console box duct to the vehicle body with the 3 clips.
- Engage the clamp to connect the wire harness.
- INSTALL REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

- INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR
- Install the front No. 1 floor heat insulator to the vehicle body with the 3 nuts.
Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf/cm, 44 in.lbf)
- Install the front No. 1 floor heat insulator to the vehicle body with the 3 nuts.
- INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (TWC: Front and Rear Catalyst)

- INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

- INSTALL RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER

- INSTALL AUXILIARY BATTERY

- CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTE:When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
