Removal [10/2018 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  2. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12 [10/2018 - 10/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12 [10/2019 - ]

  3. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2018 - ]

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 EGR PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [10/2018 - 07/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [07/2022 - ]

  5. REMOVE E.F.I. VACUUM SENSOR ASSEMBLY (MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSOR) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  6. DISCONNECT NO. 1 FUEL VAPOR FEED HOSE 
    1. Slide the hose clip and disconnect the No. 1 fuel vapor feed hose from the intake manifold.

    2. Disengage the clamp to disconnect the No. 1 fuel vapor feed hose.
  7. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE 
    1. Disconnect the No. 3 fuel vapor feed hose from the No. 1 vacuum switching valve assembly.

    2. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    3. Remove the 3 bolts and disconnect the engine wire from the fuel delivery guard, intake manifold and timing chain cover assembly.
    4. Disengage the 3 clamps to disconnect the engine wire from the intake manifold and fuel vapor feed pipe.
    5. Remove the bolt and disconnect the engine wire from the intake manifold.

    6. Disengage the clamp to disconnect the engine wire from the intake manifold.
  8. DISCONNECT NO. 3 WATER BY-PASS PIPE 
    1. Slide the hose clip and disconnect the water by-pass hose from the No. 3 water by-pass pipe.

    2. Using an 8 mm socket wrench, remove the bolt and disconnect the No. 3 water by-pass pipe from the intake manifold.
  9. DISCONNECT NO. 3 WATER BY-PASS HOSE 
    1. Disengage the clamp to disconnect the No. 3 water by-pass hose from the No. 2 water hose clamp bracket.

  10. REMOVE BRACKET 
    1. Using an 8 mm socket wrench, remove the bolt and wire harness clamp bracket from the intake manifold.

      *1 Wire Harness Clamp Bracket
      *2 No. 2 Water Hose Clamp Bracket
    2. Remove the bolt and No. 2 water hose clamp bracket from the intake manifold.
  11. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD STAY 
    1. Disengage the clamp to disconnect the HV air conditioning wire from the No. 1 water hose clamp bracket.

    2. Using an 8 mm socket wrench, remove the bolt (A).

    3. Remove the bolt (B).
    4. Disengage the guide to remove the intake manifold stay.
  12. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts, 2 nuts, No. 2 fuel delivery guard and intake manifold from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

  13. REMOVE NO. 1 INTAKE MANIFOLD TO HEAD GASKET 
    1. Remove the No. 1 intake manifold to head gasket from the intake manifold.

  14. REMOVE VACUUM HOSE 
    1. Remove the vacuum hose from the intake manifold.
