Removal [10/2018 - 07/2022]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022] 

  3. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE 
    WARNING:

    Wear insulated gloves.

    NOTE:

    Do not allow any foreign matter or water to enter the inverter with converter assembly.

    1. Move each lock lever as shown in the illustration and disconnect the 2 inverter with converter assembly connectors.
      NOTE:
      • Do not touch the waterproof seal or terminals of the connector.
      • Do not damage the terminals, connector housing or inverter with converter assembly during disconnection.
      • Cover the hole where the cable was connected with tape (non-residue type) or equivalent to prevent entry of foreign matter.
      • Insulate the disconnected terminals with insulating tape.

  4. REMOVE CONNECTOR COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12

  5. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13

  6. TEMPORARILY INSTALL CONNECTOR COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14

  7. DISCONNECT FLOOR UNDER WIRE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15

  8. REMOVE BENCH TYPE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  9. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION LOCK HOOK 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  10. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

  11. REMOVE REAR UNDER SIDE COVER LH

  12. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  17. REMOVE LUGGAGE ROOM REAR COVER (for AWD)

  18. REMOVE INVERTER TERMINAL COVER (for AWD)

  19. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE (for AWD)

  20. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN INVERTER TERMINAL COVER (for AWD)

  21. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY RH (for AWD)

  22. REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH RH (for AWD)

  26. DISCONNECT FLOOR UNDER WIRE (for 2WD) 
    WARNING:

    Wear insulated gloves.

    NOTE:

    Insulate the disconnected connectors with insulating tape.

    1. Disconnect the 2 HV battery junction block assembly connectors.

      *a Shield Ground
    2. Disconnect the shield ground from the HV battery.
  27. DISCONNECT HV BATTERY PACK WIRE (for AWD) 
    WARNING:

    Wear insulated gloves.

    NOTE:

    Insulate the disconnected connectors with insulating tape.

    1. Disconnect the 2 HV battery junction block assembly connectors.

      *a Shield Ground
    2. Disconnect the shield ground from the HV battery.
  28. REMOVE NO. 1 FLOOR UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  29. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the front floor cover LH.

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  30. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION CROSSMEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022]

  31. REMOVE FLOOR UNDER WIRE 
    WARNING:

    Wear insulated gloves.

    NOTE:

    Insulate the disconnected connectors with insulating tape.

    1. Remove the 2 nuts.

    2. Remove the 3 clamps.

      NOTE:

      If the clamps are removed forcibly, the stud bolts may be damaged.

    3. Disengage the grommet and pull out the HV floor under wire from the floor panel hole.

    4. Remove the clamp (A).

      *B for RHD
    5. Disengage the clamp (B) to remove the HV floor under wire.
  32. REMOVE FLOOR UNDER WIRE (for 2WD) 
    WARNING:

    Wear insulated gloves.

    NOTE:

    Insulate the disconnected connectors with insulating tape.

    1. Remove the 2 nuts.

    2. Remove the 3 clamps.

      NOTE:

      If the clamps are removed forcibly, the stud bolts may be damaged.

    3. Disengage the grommet and pull out the HV floor under wire from the floor panel hole.

    4. Remove the nut.

    5. Disconnect the connector.
    6. Disengage the 2 clamps to remove the HV floor under wire.
  33. REMOVE FLOOR UNDER WIRE (for AWD) 
    WARNING:

    Wear insulated gloves.

    NOTE:

    Insulate the disconnected connectors with insulating tape.

    8. Disconnect the connector.
    9. Disengage the 2 clamps to remove the HV floor under wire.
  34. REMOVE HV BATTERY PACK WIRE (for AWD) 
    WARNING:

    Wear insulated gloves.

    1. Disengage the 2 clamps to remove the HV battery pack wire.
