Removal [10/2018 - ]: Procedure
- REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [10/2018 - 07/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [07/2022 - ]
- REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER LH
See step 1
- REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER RH
HINT:
Perform the same procedure as for the front floor cover LH.
- REMOVE FRONT FLOOR CENTER BRACE
See step 3
- REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (TWC: Rear Catalyst) WARNING:
- To prevent burns, do not touch the engine, exhaust manifold (TWC: Front Catalyst) or other high temperature components while the engine is hot.
- To prevent burns, do not touch the engine, exhaust pipe or other high temperature components while the engine is hot.
- Disconnect the No. 2 air fuel ratio sensor connector.
- Disengage the clamp.
Remove the 4 bolts and 4 compression springs and disconnect the front exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst) from the exhaust manifold (TWC: Front Catalyst) and tail exhaust pipe assembly.
- Remove the front exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst) from the 2 exhaust pipe supports.
- Remove the 2 exhaust pipe gaskets from the exhaust manifold (TWC: Front Catalyst) and front exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst).
- REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR

- REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET
- REMOVE NO. 1 FRONT FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR WARNING:
To prevent burns, do not touch the engine, exhaust manifold (TWC: Front Catalyst) or other high temperature components while the engine is hot.
- SEPARATE NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR WARNING:
To prevent burns, do not touch the engine, exhaust manifold (TWC: Front Catalyst) or other high temperature components while the engine is hot.
- REMOVE MANIFOLD STAY WARNING:
To prevent burns, do not touch the engine, exhaust manifold (TWC: Front Catalyst) or other high temperature components while the engine is hot.
- REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD (TWC: Front Catalyst) WARNING:
To prevent burns, do not touch the engine, exhaust manifold (TWC: Front Catalyst) or other high temperature components while the engine is hot.
- Using a 12 mm deep socket wrench, remove the 7 nuts and separate the exhaust manifold (TWC: Front Catalyst) from the cylinder head sub-assembly.
- Remove the No. 1 exhaust manifold heat insulator and exhaust manifold (TWC: Front Catalyst).
- Remove the exhaust manifold to head gasket from the cylinder head sub-assembly.
- Using a 12 mm deep socket wrench, remove the 7 nuts and separate the exhaust manifold (TWC: Front Catalyst) from the cylinder head sub-assembly.
