Removal [10/2018 - 07/2022]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE FUEL SUCTION TUBE WITH PUMP AND GAUGE ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022] 

  2. DRAIN FUEL 
  3. REMOVE TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  4. REMOVE REAR FLOOR SIDE MEMBER COVER RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  5. REMOVE REAR FLOOR SIDE MEMBER COVER LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL TANK PROTECTOR SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the nut, 4 clips and No. 1 fuel tank protector sub-assembly from the fuel tank assembly.

  7. REMOVE FUEL TANK VENT HOSE 
    1. Disconnect the fuel tank vent hose sub-assembly from the fuel vapor containment valve (fuel tank solenoid main valve assembly).

      *a Retainer *b Tab
      *c Tube Connector *d O-ring
      *e Pipe (Fuel Vapor Containment Valve (Fuel Tank Solenoid Main Valve Assembly)) - -
      Pinch Pull
      Pull off - -
      NOTE:
      • Remove any dirt or foreign matter on the tube connectors before performing this work.
      • Do not allow any scratches or foreign matter to get on the parts when disconnecting them as the tube connector has an O-ring that seals the pipe (fuel vapor containment valve (fuel tank solenoid main valve assembly)).
      • Perform this work by hand. Do not use any tools.
      • Do not forcibly bend, twist or turn the fuel tank vent hose sub-assembly.
      • Protect the disconnected parts by covering them with plastic bags after disconnecting the fuel tank vent hose sub-assembly.
      • If the tube connector and pipe (fuel vapor containment valve (fuel tank solenoid main valve assembly)) are stuck, push and pull to release them.

      HINT: 

      Do not remove the retainer.

      1. Pinch the tabs of the retainer to disengage the lock claws and pull it down.
      2. Pull off the fuel tank vent hose sub-assembly.
  8. DISCONNECT FUEL TANK FILLER PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the fuel tank filler pipe sub-assembly from the fuel tank assembly.

  9. DISCONNECT FUEL TANK MAIN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the fuel tank main tube sub-assembly from the fuel pipe.

  10. REMOVE FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY 
    WARNING:

    The fuel tank assembly is very heavy. Be sure to follow the procedure described in the service information, or the fuel tank assembly may fall off the engine lifter.

    1. Support the fuel tank assembly using an engine lifter.

      HINT: 

      Using height adjustment attachments and plate lift attachments, keep the fuel tank assembly horizontal.

    2. Remove the 4 bolts.

    3. Lower the engine lifter to remove the fuel tank assembly.
      NOTE:
      • Be careful not to drop the fuel tank assembly.
      • When removing the fuel tank assembly, tilt it slightly to prevent it from interfering with the surrounding parts.
  11. REMOVE FUEL TANK MAIN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 4 clamps to remove the fuel tank main tube sub-assembly from the fuel tank assembly.
