Disassembly [08/2016 - 03/2018]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2016 - 12/2017] , or refer to PRECAUTION [12/2017 - 03/2018]

  2. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [08/2016 - 12/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [12/2017 - 08/2019]

  3. REMOVE REAR DECK FLOOR BOX 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [08/2016 - 12/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [12/2017 - 08/2019]

  4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  5. REMOVE REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL PLUG 
    1. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 3 claws to remove the rear door inside handle bezel plug.

  6. REMOVE REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH REAR DOOR UPPER ARMREST BASE PANEL 
    1. Apply protective tape to the rear door armrest assembly as shown in the illustration.

    2. Raise the rear power window regulator switch assembly with rear door upper armrest base panel using the moulding remover D as shown in the illustration.

      Move in this Direction
    3. While holding the moulding remover D, disengage the claw using the moulding remover E or equivalent as shown in the illustration.

    4. While holding the moulding remover D, disengage the claw using the moulding remover E or equivalent as shown in the illustration.

    5. Disconnect the connector to remove the rear power window regulator switch assembly with rear door upper armrest base panel.
  7. REMOVE REAR DOOR ARMREST COVER 
    1. Remove the rear door armrest cover.

  8. REMOVE COURTESY LIGHT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  9. REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Apply protective tape to the rear door panel as shown in the illustration.

    2. Remove the 3 screws.

    3. Using a clip remover, disengage the 10 clips.

    4. w/o Rear Door Sunshade:
      1. Disengage the 4 claws and guide.

    5. w/ Rear Door Sunshade:
      1. Disengage the 2 claws and guide.

    6. Disconnect each connector.
    7. Disconnect the rear door lock remote control cable assembly from the rear door inside handle sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

    8. Disengage the 2 clamps.

      *a Push
    9. Disengage the 2 claws as shown in the illustration to disconnect the rear door inside locking cable assembly and remove the rear door trim board sub-assembly.
  10. REMOVE REAR DOOR LOCK CONTROL KNOB BEZEL 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the rear door lock control knob bezel as shown in the illustration.

  11. REMOVE REAR DOOR INNER GLASS WEATHERSTRIP 
    1. Remove the rear door inner glass weatherstrip as shown in the illustration.

  12. REMOVE REAR SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  13. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  14. REMOVE REAR DOOR NO. 2 TRIM BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and rear door No. 2 trim bracket.

  15. REMOVE REAR DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER 
    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Disengage the clamp.
    3. Disengage the 9 clips to remove the rear door service hole cover.
  16. REMOVE REAR DOOR CHECK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 nuts and bolt, and rear door check assembly.

  17. REMOVE CURTAIN HOOK (w/ Rear Door Sunshade) 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure for both curtain hooks.

    1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, push out the pin as shown in the illustration.

    2. Disengage the 2 claws to remove the curtain hook.

  18. REMOVE REAR DOOR WEATHERSTRIP 
    1. Using a clip remover, disengage the 25 clips and remove the rear door weatherstrip.

  19. REMOVE REAR DOOR FRONT BELT SEAL 
    1. Remove the rear door front belt seal.

  20. REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS RUN 
    1. Remove the rear door glass run.

  21. REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW DIVISION BAR SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts, 2 screws and rear door window division bar sub-assembly.

  22. REMOVE REAR DOOR REAR GUIDE SEAL 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and rear door rear guide seal.

  23. REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the hole plug.

    2. Connect the rear power window regulator switch assembly.
    3. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    4. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    5. Move the rear door glass sub-assembly so that the door glass bolts can be seen.
    6. Turn the power switch off.
    7. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    8. Disconnect the rear power window regulator switch assembly.
    9. Remove the 2 bolts.

      NOTE:

      Do not damage the rear door glass sub-assembly.

    10. Remove the rear door glass sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.
      NOTE:

      Do not damage the rear door glass sub-assembly.

  24. REMOVE REAR DOOR FRAME GARNISH 
    1. Disengage the 3 claws to remove the rear door frame garnish.

  25. REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws to remove the rear door No. 2 service hole cover.

    2. Loosen the temporary bolt.
      NOTE:

      Do not remove the temporary bolt. If the temporary bolt is removed, the rear door window regulator assembly may fall and cause damage.

    3. Remove the 5 bolts.
    4. Remove the rear door window regulator assembly.
    5. Remove the temporary bolt from the rear door window regulator assembly.
  26. REMOVE REAR DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 18

  27. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws.

    2. Using a screwdriver, disconnect the connector.
    3. Disengage the 2 claws and move the lever as shown in the illustration.

    4. Remove the rear door outside handle assembly as shown in the illustration.

  28. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER 
    1. Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, loosen the screw.

      HINT: 

      The screw cannot be removed because it is integrated into the rear door outside handle frame sub-assembly.

    2. Disengage the claw to remove the rear door outside handle cover.
  29. REMOVE REAR DOOR FRONT OUTSIDE HANDLE PAD 
    1. Disengage the 3 claws to remove the rear door front outside handle pad.

  30. REMOVE REAR DOOR REAR OUTSIDE HANDLE PAD 
    1. Disengage the claw.

    2. Disengage the 3 guides to remove the rear door rear outside handle pad as shown in the illustration.

  31. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the screw.

    2. Slide the rear door outside handle frame sub-assembly to disengage the claw, and then remove it.
  32. REMOVE REAR DOOR PANEL CUSHION 
    1. Disengage the claw to remove the rear door panel cushion.

  33. REMOVE REAR DOOR BELT MOULDING ASSEMBLY
