Removal [08/2016 - 08/2019]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:
    • After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

      Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2016 - 12/2017] , or refer to PRECAUTION [12/2017 - 03/2018] , or refer to PRECAUTION [03/2018 - 08/2019]

    • When replacing the auxiliary battery, use a new auxiliary battery of the same dimensions with a collective ventilation system and a capacity of 60 Ah or more at a 20-hour rate.
    • After replacing the auxiliary battery, install the ventilation hole plug supplied with the new auxiliary battery or the ventilation hole plug from the old auxiliary battery to the ventilation hole on the side to which the battery hose is not connected.
  2. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [08/2016 - 12/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [12/2017 - 08/2019]

  3. REMOVE REAR DECK FLOOR BOX 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [08/2016 - 12/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [12/2017 - 08/2019]

  4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 
    1. Loosen the nut, and disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
      NOTE:

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

      Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2016 - 12/2017] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [12/2017 - 03/2018] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [03/2018 - 08/2019]

  5. REMOVE AUXILIARY BATTERY 
    1. Open the battery terminal cap.
    2. Loosen the nut and disconnect the cable from the positive (+) auxiliary battery terminal.

    3. Remove the 2 nuts and battery clamp sub-assembly.

    4. Disconnect the battery hose from the auxiliary battery.

    5. Remove the auxiliary battery.
    6. Remove the battery insulator from the auxiliary battery.
