Installation [10/2014 - ]: Procedure

1. Apply MP grease to the lip of a new timing gear case or timing chain case oil seal.
   NOTE:

   • Keep the lip free from foreign matter.
   • Do not allow MP grease to contact the dust seal.
2. Using SST and a hammer, tap in the timing gear case or timing chain case oil seal until the timing chain cover edge.
   • SST: 09636-20010 

   Standard depth

   -0.75 to -1.45 mm (-0.0295 to -0.0571 in.) (from edge of the timing chain cover assembly)

   NOTE:

   • Do not tap in the timing gear case or timing chain case oil seal at an angle.
   • Keep the lip free from foreign matter.
   • Wipe off any MP grease from the crankshaft.
