Removal [12/2017 - 11/2021]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    Do not race the engine before replacing the compressor assembly with pulley

  2. AIR SUSPENSION CONTROL PROHIBITED (w/ Air Suspension) 

    Refer to PRECAUTION [12/2017 - ]

  3. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 [12/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 [09/2018 - 10/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 [10/2020 - 10/2022]

  4. REMOVE RADIATOR COVER PLATE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  5. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  6. REMOVE LOWER RADIATOR AIR DEFLECTOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  7. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  8. DISCONNECT NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  9. REMOVE OIL PAN PROTECTOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  10. REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  11. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  12. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT TO CROSSMEMBER BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and radiator support to crossmember brace sub-assembly RH.

  13. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT TO CROSSMEMBER BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and radiator support to crossmember brace sub-assembly LH.

  14. REMOVE AIR CLEANER WITH ELEMENT ASSEMBLY RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 44 [12/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 44 [09/2018 - 10/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 44 [10/2020 - 10/2022]

  15. REMOVE AIR CLEANER WITH ELEMENT ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 43 [12/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 43 [09/2018 - 10/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 43 [10/2020 - 10/2022]

  16. DISCONNECT SUCTION HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the nut and disconnect the suction hose sub-assembly from the air conditioning tube and accessory assembly.
      NOTE:

      Do not apply excessive force to the suction hose sub-assembly from the air conditioning tube and accessory assembly.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the suction hose sub-assembly
      NOTE:

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.

  17. REMOVE NO. 13 CONNECTOR HOLDER 
    1. Disconnect the connector.

      *a Clamp
      *b Guide
    2. Detach the clamp and guide and remove the No. 13 connector holder from the air cleaner support bracket assembly.
  18. DISCONNECT AIR CLEANER SUPPORT BRACKET ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and air cleaner support bracket assembly.

  19. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR TUBE ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11

  20. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY (for Bank 2) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13

  21. REMOVE DISCHARGE HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the discharge hose sub-assembly from the compressor assembly with pulley.

      NOTE:

      Do not apply excessive force to the discharge hose sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the discharge hose sub-assembly.
      NOTE:

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.

  22. REMOVE SUCTION HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the bolt and suction hose sub-assembly from the compressor assembly with pulley.
      NOTE:

      Do not apply excessive force to the suction hose sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the suction hose sub-assembly
      NOTE:

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.

  23. REMOVE COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY WITH PULLEY 
    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts and compressor assembly with pulley.

      Bolt
      Nut
    3. Using an E8 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 stud bolts.
