Removal [10/2015 - 09/2017]: Procedure

  1. TABLE OF BOLT, SCREW AND NUT 

    HINT: 

    All bolts and screws relevant to installing and removing the instrument panel are shown along with their alphabetic code in the table below.

  2. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  3. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 
  4. CHANGE POWER TILT AND POWER TELESCOPIC STEERING COLUMN SYSTEM SETTINGS 

    Refer to CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS [10/2015 - ]

  5. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2015 - ]

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2015 - 09/2016] , or Refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2016 - 09/2017]

  6. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE BOX 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2015 - ] 

  7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 
    1. Disengage the claws and clips to remove the front door scuff plate LH as shown in the illustration.

      Remove in this Direction
  8. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  9. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH 
    1. Disengage the claws to remove the front door opening trim cover LH as shown in the illustration.

  10. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  11. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH 
    1. Pull up the front pillar garnish to disengage the clips as shown in the illustration.

      Pull up
    2. Push the release lever and separate the front pillar garnish clip A from the vehicle body as shown in the illustration.

      Turn
      NOTE:

      If the front pillar garnish clip has significant damage, replace it with a new one.

    3. Turn the front pillar garnish clip B clockwise 90° and separate it from the front pillar garnish LH as shown in the illustration.
      NOTE:

      If the front pillar garnish clip has significant damage, replace it with a new one.

    4. Disengage the guide to remove the front pillar garnish LH as shown in the illustration.

    5. Push the release lever to remove the front pillar garnish clip from the vehicle body as shown in the illustration.

    6. Protect the curtain shield airbag assembly.

      *a Protective Cover
      Adhesive Tape
      1. Completely cover the curtain shield airbag assembly with a cloth or nylon sheet and secure the ends of the cover with adhesive tape as shown in the illustration.
        NOTE:

        Cover the curtain shield airbag assembly with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish LH is removed.

  12. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  13. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH 
    1. Using a moulding remover B, disengage the clips to remove the instrument side panel LH as shown in the illustration.

  14. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL GARNISH SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a moulding remover B, disengage the clips to remove the No. 1 instrument panel garnish sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

  15. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 3 screws <A>.

    2. Disengage the claws to remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.
    3. Disconnect the connector.
  16. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the clips and guide to remove the No. 1 instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

    2. Disconnect the connectors.
  17. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  18. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the clips and guides to remove the instrument cluster finish panel assembly as shown in the illustration.

  19. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Pull in the direction indicated by the arrow (1) in the illustration, disengage the claws to separate the meter hood spacer.

    2. Pull in the direction indicated by the arrow (2) in the illustration, disengage the clips to remove the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.
    3. Disconnect the connectors.
  20. REMOVE HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2015 - 09/2017]

  21. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  22. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a moulding remover B, disengage the clips to remove the No. 1 instrument panel register assembly as shown in the illustration.

    2. Disconnect the connector.
  23. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH 
    1. Using a moulding remover B, disengage the clips to remove the instrument side panel RH as shown in the illustration.

  24. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the clips and guides to remove the No. 2 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

    2. Disconnect the connector.
  25. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 3 screws <A>.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts <E>.
    3. Disengage the clips to remove the glove compartment door assembly as shown in the illustration.
    4. Disconnect the connectors.
  26. REMOVE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  27. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a moulding remover B, disengage the clips to remove the No. 2 instrument panel register assembly as shown in the illustration.

    2. Disconnect the connectors.
  28. REMOVE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) (w/ Telematics Transceiver) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  29. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL GARNISH SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 screws <G>.

    2. Using a moulding remover B, disengage the clips and claw to remove the No. 2 instrument panel garnish sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.
    3. Disconnect the connector.
  30. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the clips and guides to remove the No. 1 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

  31. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the clips and guides to remove the No. 2 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

  32. REMOVE NO. 1 SPEAKER OPENING COVER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the clips, claw and guide to remove the No. 1 speaker opening cover assembly as shown in the illustration.

  36. REMOVE INSTRUMENT UPPER CLUSTER FINISH PANEL (for 8 Inch Display) 
    1. Remove the 3 clips <B>.

  37. REMOVE INSTRUMENT UPPER CLUSTER FINISH PANEL (for 12.3 Inch Display) 
    1. Remove the 3 clips <B>.

    2. Disengage the clips and claws to remove the instrument upper cluster finish panel as shown in the illustration.
  38. REMOVE MULTI-DISPLAY (for 8 Inch Display) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  39. REMOVE ACCESSORY METER ASSEMBLY (for 12.3 Inch Display) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  40. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the nut <D>.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts <C>.
    3. Remove the 2 bolts <E>.
    4. Remove the 2 bolts <F>.
    5. Disengage the claws to disconnect the room temperature sensor.
    6. Disconnect the connectors.
    7. Disengage the clamps.
    8. Disengage the guides to remove the instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.
