DTC C1A75: Lost Communication with Steering Vibrator System [10/2015 - 08/2019]: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA - STEERING VIBRATION ECU) 
    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Disconnect the U14 forward recognition camera connector.
    3. Disconnect the A No. 1 switch wire connector from the steering vibration ECU.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A-2 (LDA) - U14-2 (STRV) Always Below 1 Ω
      A-2 (LDA) or U14-2 (STRV) - Body ground Power switch off 10 kΩ or higher
    5. Connect the A No. 1 switch wire connector to the steering vibration ECU.
    6. Connect the U14 forward recognition camera connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG

  2. INSPECT STEERING VIBRATION ECU (IG VOLTAGE) 
    1. Disconnect the z24 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      z24-4 (BHT) (spiral cable sub-assembly side) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
    4. Turn the power switch off.
    5. Connect the z24 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the z24 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      z24-1 (EHT) (spiral cable sub-assembly side) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Connect the z24 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG

  4. INSPECT FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA 
    1. Disconnect the A No. 1 switch wire connector from the steering vibration ECU.
    2. Using an oscilloscope, measure the waveform at the A No. 1 switch wire connector.

      Measurement Condition

      Tester Connection Condition Tester Range
      A-2 (LDA) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 5 V/DIV., 1 ms/DIV.
      NOTE:

      The oscilloscope waveform is for reference only and does not include noise, fluctuations, etc.

      OK

      A waveform similar to that in the illustration can be observed.

    3. Connect the A No. 1 switch wire connector to the steering vibration ECU.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE STEERING VIBRATION ECU. Refer to  COMPONENTS [10/2015 - 08/2019] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA. Refer to  COMPONENTS [10/2015 - 08/2019] 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the J23 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J23-2 (EHT) (connector side) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Connect the J23 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [10/2015 - 08/2016]  , or refer to  COMPONENTS [08/2016 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEERING VIBRATION ECU POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the J23 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J23-4 (BHT) (connector side) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
    4. Turn the power switch off.
    5. Connect the J23 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [10/2015 - 08/2016]  , or refer to  COMPONENTS [08/2016 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (STEERING VIBRATION ECU POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 

  7. INSPECT NO. 1 SWITCH WIRE 
    1. Disconnect the z9 No. 1 switch wire connector from the spiral cable sub-assembly.

      *a No. 1 Switch Wire Connector
      (to Spiral Cable Sub-assembly)
      *b No. 1 Switch Wire Connector
      (to Steering Vibration ECU)
    2. Disconnect the A No. 1 switch wire connector from the steering vibration ECU.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      z9-2 (LDA) - A-2 (LDA) Always Below 1 Ω
      z9-2 (LDA) or A-2 (LDA) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Connect the A No. 1 switch wire connector to the steering vibration ECU.
    5. Connect the z9 No. 1 switch wire connector to the spiral cable sub-assembly.

      Result

      Result Proceed to

      NG (w/o Shift Paddle Switch) B
      NG (w/ Shift Paddle Switch) C

    Result: 

    REPLACE NO. 1 SWITCH WIRE (STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY). Refer to  COMPONENTS [10/2015 - 08/2019]

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA) 
    1. Disconnect the U14 forward recognition camera connector.
    2. Disconnect the J29 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J29-9 (LDA) - U14-2 (STRV) Always Below 1 Ω
      J29-9 (LDA) or U14-2 (STRV) - Body ground Power switch off 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Connect the J29 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.
    5. Connect the U14 forward recognition camera connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [10/2015 - 08/2016]  , or refer to  COMPONENTS [08/2016 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
