Removal [07/2015 - ]: Procedure
- PRECAUTION WARNING:
Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing. Refer to PRECAUTION [07/2015 - ]
NOTE:After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work. Refer to PRECAUTION [07/2015 - ]
- REMOVE LUGGAGE TRIM SERVICE HOLE COVER
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL WARNING:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTE:When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION [07/2015 - ]
- REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side. Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4
- REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH
HINT:
Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side. Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5
- REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER RH
HINT:
Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side. Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 32
- REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 33
- REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY WARNING:
When storing the lower No. 2 instrument panel airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.
- Check that the power switch is off.
- Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.WARNING:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
- Remove the 3 bolts.
- Disengage the 5 claws and 2 guides to separate the lower No. 2 instrument panel airbag assembly.NOTE:
When removing the lower No. 2 instrument panel airbag assembly, do not pull the airbag wire harness.
- Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, release the airbag connector lock.TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION
*1 Protective Tape *2 Airbag Connector *3 Airbag Connector Lock - Disconnect the airbag connector to remove the lower No. 2 instrument panel airbag assembly.NOTE:
When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
