Removal [09/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  2. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  3. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (Refer to PRECAUTION [09/2015 - ] ).

  4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2015 - 08/2019] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2019 - ] ).

  5. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the cowl top ventilator louver (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2015 - ] ).
  6. REMOVE FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  7. REMOVE FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  8. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    See step  4

  9. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  10. REMOVE AIR CLEANER HOSE ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the vacuum hose and No. 2 ventilation hose.

    2. Loosen the 2 hose clamps.
    3. Remove the air cleaner hose.
  11. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD 
    1. Disconnect the ventilation hose from the ventilation pipe of the cylinder head cover LH and RH.

    2. Disconnect the 2 water by-pass hoses.

    3. Disconnect the throttle body connector.
    4. Disconnect the No. 1 ventilation hose.

    5. Disconnect the purge VSV connector.

    6. Disconnect the purge line hose from the purge VSV.
    7. Disconnect the vacuum switching valve connector (for ACIS).
    8. Remove the No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly.

    9. Remove the No. 3 engine cover.

    10. Disconnect the 3 wire clamps from the 3 wire brackets.

    11. Remove the bolt and wire bracket from the intake manifold.

    12. Remove the 2 nuts, 8 bolts, intake manifold and 2 gaskets.

  12. REMOVE VENTILATION HOSE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and ventilation hose from the intake manifold.

  13. REMOVE NO. 1 V-BANK COVER BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and bracket.

  14. REMOVE V-BANK COVER BOLT 
    1. Remove the cover bolt from the intake manifold.

  15. REMOVE NO. 2 V-BANK COVER BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the bolt and bracket.

  16. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts, throttle body and gasket.

  17. REMOVE VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY (for ACIS) 
    1. Disconnect the 2 vacuum hoses from the vacuum switching valve.

    2. Remove the bolt and vacuum switching valve.
  18. REMOVE PURGE VSV 
    1. Disconnect the purge line hose from the intake manifold.

    2. Remove the bolt and purge VSV.
  19. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET

      Remove the 2 bolts and 2 wire harness clamp brackets.
