Removal [08/2018 - ]: Procedure
- OPEN BACK DOOR
- Open the back door before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, as some procedures are performed with the back door open.NOTE:
The back door cannot be opened after the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Open the back door before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, as some procedures are performed with the back door open.
- REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3
- PRECAUTION NOTE:
After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.

- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL WARNING:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTE:When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

- REMOVE TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)
- Remove the tonneau cover assembly.
- REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

- When removing the center lower pillar garnish LH, connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal and operate the power seat switch to move the front seat and seatback to the foremost upright position.
- After moving the front seat, disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
- REMOVE CENTER LOWER PILLAR GARNISH RH
HINT:
- When removing the center lower pillar garnish RH, connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal and operate the power seat switch to move the front seat and seatback to the foremost upright position.
- After moving the front seat, disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
- REMOVE REAR ASSIST GRIP ASSEMBLY
HINT:
Use the same procedure for both rear assist grip assemblies.
- REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LH
- Remove the bolt.
- Detach the 2 clips and 2 guides.
- Pass the seat belt anchor through the center pillar garnish, and remove the center pillar garnish LH.
- REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH RH

- REMOVE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM HOOK
HINT:
Use the same procedure for both No. 1 luggage compartment trim hooks.
- REMOVE NO. 1 TONNEAU COVER HOLDER CAP (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)
HINT:
Use the same procedure for both No. 1 tonneau cover holder caps.
- REMOVE FRONT QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY LH
HINT:
When removing the front quarter trim panel assembly LH, operate the reclining adjuster release handle and move the No. 1 rear seat to the position shown in the illustration.
- w/o Rear No. 2 Seat:
Detach the 3 claws and remove the outer lap belt anchor cover.
Remove the bolt and rear No. 1 seat belt anchor.
- w/ Rear No. 2 Seat:
- Remove the screw and clip.
- Detach the 19 clips and 2 claws.
- Disconnect the thermistor connector and power outlet socket connector, and then remove the front quarter trim panel assembly LH.
- REMOVE FRONT QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY RH
HINT:
When removing the front quarter trim panel assembly RH, operate the reclining adjuster release handle and move the No. 1 rear seat to the position shown in the illustration.
- REMOVE REAR FRONT QUARTER TRIM GARNISH LH
- Remove the screw.
- Detach the clip and 2 guides.
- Pass the seat belt anchor through the rear front quarter trim garnish LH, and remove the rear front quarter trim garnish LH.
- REMOVE REAR FRONT QUARTER TRIM GARNISH RH

- Pull SST as shown in the illustration to detach the claw.
* a 30 to 45° NOTE:To prevent the assist grip sub-assembly from being damaged, make sure to only pull SST as shown in the illustration.
HINT:
- Use the same procedure for the claw on the other side of the assist grip cover LH.
- Use the same procedure for the LH side and RH side.
- Remove the assist grip cover LH.

- Detach the 2 clips as shown in the illustration to remove the assist grip assembly.
- Remove the 2 clips from the vehicle body.

- Insert SST into the cutout of the assist grip cover LH as shown in the illustration.
- REMOVE NO. 2 ASSIST GRIP ASSEMBLY RH

- Remove the 2 clips from the vehicle body.
- REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY
HINT:
- When removing the roof headlining assembly, connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal and move the front seat and No. 1 rear seat to the position shown in the illustration.
- After moving the seats, disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
w/o Pre-collision System:
Disconnect the connector.
Disconnect the connector.
- w/ Pre-collision System:
Disconnect the connector.
* a Front Left Side * b Washer Hose Disconnect the 3 roof wire connectors and washer hose.
- Detach the 4 clamps.
* a Front Right Side Remove the bolt.
- Disconnect the antenna cord connector and detach the 2 clamps.
* a Rear Right Side Disconnect the antenna cord connector.
* a Rear Left Side Disconnect the washer hose.
- w/ Rear No. 2 Seat:
- w/o Rear No. 2 Seat:
Remove the roof headlining assembly from the rear of the vehicle as shown in the illustration.
NOTE:Be careful not to damage the roof headlining assembly when taking it out.
- REMOVE FRONT ROOF SIDE RAIL GARNISH LH
* a Cut Off Position - Detach the 3 clips.
- Cut off the 3 clips and remove the front roof side rail garnish LH.
- Remove the 3 clips from the vehicle body.
- REMOVE FRONT ROOF SIDE RAIL GARNISH RH

Use the same procedures described for the LH side.
- REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH
- Remove the front door opening trim weatherstrip LH.
- REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH

- REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH
- Remove the rear door opening trim weatherstrip LH.

- REMOVE BACK DOOR WEATHERSTRIP
- Remove the back door weatherstrip.
HINT:
Remove any remaining sealer from the vehicle body.
- Remove the back door weatherstrip.
- REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE OUTSIDE LH
* a Protective Tape - Put protective tape around the front door scuff plate outside LH.
- Detach the 4 clips and remove the front door scuff plate outside LH.
- REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE OUTSIDE RH
HINT:
Use the same procedures described for the LH side.
- REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE OUTSIDE LH
* a Protective Tape - Put protective tape around the rear door scuff plate outside LH.
- Detach the 3 clips and remove the rear door scuff plate outside LH.
- REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE OUTSIDE RH
HINT:
Use the same procedures described for the LH side.
- REMOVE FRONT SHOULDER BELT ANCHOR PLATE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
- Detach the 6 claws of the front shoulder belt anchor plate sub-assembly LH, and slide the front shoulder belt anchor plate sub-assembly LH in the direction of the arrow to remove it.
- REMOVE FRONT SHOULDER BELT ANCHOR PLATE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

Use the same procedures described for the LH side.
- REMOVE REAR SHOULDER BELT ANCHOR PLATE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
- Detach the 6 claws and remove the rear shoulder belt anchor plate sub-assembly LH.

- REMOVE ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH COVER LH (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)
- Detach the 7 claws and remove the roof side inner garnish cover LH.
- REMOVE ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH COVER RH (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)

- REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SEAT SHOULDER BELT HANGER

* a Spring Nut - Remove the 2 spring nuts and rear No. 2 seat shoulder belt hanger LH.
- REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SEAT SHOULDER BELT HANGER RH (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)

- REMOVE QUARTER TRIM COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
*1 Rear No. 7 side air duct *2 Rear No. 8 side air duct - REMOVE QUARTER TRIM COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
- Remove the 7 screws.
- Detach the 4 claws and remove the quarter trim cover sub-assembly RH.
- REMOVE NO. 2 CUP HOLDER (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)
- REMOVE TONNEAU COVER HOLDER BRACKET LH (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)
- REMOVE TONNEAU COVER HANGER LH (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)
- REMOVE NO. 1 CUP HOLDER (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)
- Remove the 5 screws.
- Detach the 3 claws and remove the No. 1 cup holder.
- REMOVE TONNEAU COVER HOLDER BRACKET RH (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)
- REMOVE TONNEAU COVER HANGER RH (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)
- REMOVE NO. 1 SIDE TRIM BASE COVER LH
- Detach the 4 claws and remove the No. 1 side trim base cover LH.
- REMOVE NO. 1 SIDE TRIM BASE COVER RH
*1 Rear No. 4 side air duct *2 Rear No. 5 side air duct - REMOVE NO. 2 SIDE TRIM BASE COVER LH
- Detach the 4 claws and remove the No. 2 side trim base cover LH.
- REMOVE NO. 2 SIDE TRIM BASE COVER RH

- REMOVE FOLD SEAT SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)
- Detach the 6 claws and remove the fold seat switch assembly.
- REMOVE QUARTER TRIM COVER RH (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)
- REMOVE QUARTER TRIM COVER LH
- Detach the 6 claws and remove the quarter trim cover LH.
- REMOVE QUARTER TRIM LID SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
- Remove the quarter trim lid sub-assembly RH.
- REMOVE SIDE TRIM BOX COVER (w/o Woofer)
- Remove the side trim box cover.
- REMOVE SIDE TRIM BOX (w/o Woofer)
- Remove the 9 screws and side trim box.
