Removal [09/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE NO. 2 DIFFERENTIAL SUPPORT PROTECTOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  2. REMOVE NO. 1 DIFFERENTIAL SUPPORT PROTECTOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  3. REMOVE NO. 6 ROCKER PANEL MOULDING PROTECTOR 
    1. Remove the 2 clips, screw and No. 6 rocker panel moulding protector.
  4. REMOVE NO. 5 ROCKER PANEL MOULDING PROTECTOR 
    1. Remove the 2 clips, screw and No. 5 rocker panel moulding protector.
  5. REMOVE REAR FLOOR SIDE MEMBER COVER LH 
    1. Remove the 3 clips, 2 screws, nut, bolt and rear floor side member cover LH.

  6. REMOVE REAR FLOOR SIDE MEMBER COVER RH 
    1. Remove the 3 clips, 2 screws, nut, bolt and rear floor side member cover RH.

  7. REMOVE FRONT FENDER MAIN SEAL LH 
    1. Loosen the clip labeled A in the illustration, and then remove the 3 clips and front fender main seal LH.

      HINT: 

      Clip A cannot be removed.

  8. REMOVE FRONT FENDER MAIN SEAL RH 
    1. Loosen the clip labeled A in the illustration, and then remove the 3 clips and front fender main seal RH.

      HINT: 

      Clip A cannot be removed.

  9. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER LH (for 2WD) 
    1. Detach the 4 clips and remove the front floor service hole cover.

    2. Remove the nut and the clip labeled C.

    3. Loosen the 7 clips labeled A and B in the illustration, and then remove the front floor cover LH.

      HINT: 

      The clips labeled A and B cannot be removed.

  10. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER LH (for AWD) 
    1. Detach the 4 clips and remove the front floor service hole cover.

    2. Remove the nut and 2 bolts.

    3. Loosen the 7 clips labeled A and B in the illustration, and then remove the front floor cover LH.

      HINT: 

      The clips labeled A and B cannot be removed.

  11. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER RH (for 2WD) 
    1. Detach the 4 clips and remove the front floor service hole cover.

    2. Remove the nut and the clip labeled C.

      HINT:

  12. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER RH (for AWD) 
    1. Detach the 4 clips and remove the front floor service hole cover.

    2. Remove the nut and 2 bolts.

    3. Loosen the 7 clips labeled A and B in the illustration, and then remove the front floor cover RH.

      HINT: 

      The clips labeled A and B cannot be removed.

  13. REMOVE FRONT CENTER FLOOR COVER (for AWD) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12

  14. REMOVE FRONT CENTER FLOOR BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Loosen the 2 clips, and then remove the 8 bolts and front center floor brace sub-assembly.

      HINT: 

      The Clips cannot be removed.

  15. DISCONNECT HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for 2WD) 
    1. Disconnect the 2 grommets from the floor panel.
    2. Using SST, loosen the 2 heated oxygen sensors, and then disconnect the heated oxygen sensors by hand.

      • SST: 09224-00010

      *A for Bank 1 Sensor 2
      *B for Bank 2 Sensor 2
      NOTE:

      Do not strike the metal part of the heated oxygen sensor.

      HINT: 

      Rotate the heated oxygen sensor counterclockwise to remove it from the front exhaust pipe assembly, and record how many times it was rotated.

  16. DISCONNECT HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for AWD) 
    1. for Bank 1 Sensor 2:

      Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector.

    2. for Bank 2 Sensor 2:

      Disconnect the grommet from the floor panel.

    3. for Bank 2 Sensor 2:

      Using SST, loosen the heated oxygen sensor, and then disconnect the heated oxygen sensor by hand.

      • SST: 09224-00010 
      NOTE:

      Do not strike the metal part of the heated oxygen sensor.

      HINT: 

      Rotate the heated oxygen sensor counterclockwise to remove it from the front exhaust pipe assembly, and record how many times it was rotated.

  17. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Temporarily loosen the 8 bolts on the tailpipe sides and exhaust manifold sides.
    2. Remove the 4 nuts and 4 bolts from the exhaust manifold LH and exhaust manifold RH.

      HINT: 

      During removal, hold the front exhaust pipe assembly.

    3. Remove the 4 bolts from the tailpipe LH and tailpipe RH. Then remove the front exhaust pipe assembly.

      HINT: 

      During removal, hold the front exhaust pipe assembly.

    4. Remove the 2 gaskets from the exhaust manifold side and the 2 gaskets from the tailpipe side.
  18. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for AWD) 
    NOTE:

    Do not strike the metal part of the heated oxygen sensor.

    1. for Bank 1 Sensor 2:

      Using SST, loosen the heated oxygen sensor and then remove the heated oxygen sensor by hand.

  19. REMOVE TAILPIPE LH 
    1. Disconnect the 3 exhaust pipe supports and remove the tailpipe LH.

  20. REMOVE TAILPIPE RH 
    1. Disconnect the 3 exhaust pipe supports and remove the tailpipe RH.

  21. REMOVE EXHAUST PIPE DAMPER 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and exhaust pipe damper from the tailpipe LH.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and exhaust pipe damper from the tailpipe RH.

  22. REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST PIPE SUPPORT BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 2WD)

      Remove the 2 bolts and No. 1 exhaust pipe support bracket sub-assembly.
