DTC P0979: Shift Solenoid "C" Control Circuit Low (Shift Solenoid Valve S3); DTC P0980: Shift Solenoid "C" Control Circuit High (Shift Solenoid Valve S3) [04/2013 - 08/2015]: Procedure

1. Disconnect the transmission wire connector from the transmission.

   *a	Component without harness connected (Transmission Wire)

2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   7 (S3) - Body ground	20°C (68°F)	11 to 15 Ω

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

NG

1. Connect the transmission connector to the transmission.
2. Disconnect the A76 connector from the ECM.

   *a	Rear view of wire harness connector (to ECM)

3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   A76-9 (S3) - Body ground	20°C (68°F)	11 to 15 Ω

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

Result: 

OK 

REPLACE ECM. Refer to  COMPONENTS [04/2013 - 08/2015] 

Result: 

NG 

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

1. Remove the shift solenoid valve S3.

   *a	Shift Solenoid Valve S3

2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   Solenoid Connector (S3) - Solenoid Body (S3)	20°C (68°F)	11 to 15 Ω

3. Connect the positive (+) lead to the terminal of the solenoid connector, and the negative (-) lead to the solenoid body.

   OK

   The solenoid makes an operating sound.

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

Result: 

OK 

REPAIR OR REPLACE TRANSMISSION WIRE. Refer to  COMPONENTS [04/2013 - 08/2015]
