Removal [08/2015 - 08/2016]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15

  2. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM 

    See step  1

  3. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT 
    1. Drain the engine coolant (Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 ).
  4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    NOTE:
    • w/ Navigation System:

      After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, be sure to wait for the time specified in the following table before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      Condition Waiting Time
      Vehicle enrolled in safety connect system 6 minutes
      Vehicle not enrolled in safety connect system 1 minute
    • When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2015 - 08/2019] ).
  5. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SEAT ASSEMBLY (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat) 
    1. Remove the rear No. 2 seat assembly (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] ).
  6. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SEATBACK ASSEMBLY 
    1. for LH Side:

      Remove the rear No. 1 seatback assembly (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2016] ).

    2. for RH Side:

      Remove the rear No. 1 seatback assembly (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2016] ).

  7. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 FLOOR STEP COVER (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16

  8. REMOVE QUARTER SCUFF PLATE RH (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 18

  9. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 20

  10. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 22

  11. REMOVE OUTER LAP BELT ANCHOR COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 23

  12. REMOVE TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY (w/ Tonneau Cover) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 31

  13. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SEAT OUTER LAP BELT ANCHOR COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 32

  14. REMOVE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM HOOK 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 33

  15. REMOVE NO. 1 TONNEAU COVER HOLDER CAP 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 34

  16. REMOVE FRONT DECK SIDE TRIM COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 35

  17. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP PLUG (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 36

  18. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 37

  19. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 39

  20. REMOVE REAR QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 43

  21. DISCONNECT AIR CONDITIONING TUBE AND ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the bolt.

    2. Disconnect the air conditioning tube and accessory assembly.
      NOTE:
      • Do not use a screwdriver or similar tool to disconnect the tube.
      • Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.
    3. Remove the 2 O-rings from the air conditioning tube and accessory assembly.
    4. Using pliers, grip the claws of the clips and slide the 2 clips.
    5. Disconnect the heater water inlet hose and heater water outlet hose.
  22. REMOVE REAR SIDE NO. 2 AIR DUCT 
    1. Detach the 2 clips.

    2. Detach the clamp and remove the duct.
  23. REMOVE REAR SIDE NO. 3 AIR DUCT 
    1. Detach the 2 clips and remove the duct.

  24. REMOVE REAR SIDE NO. 1 AIR DUCT 
    1. Detach the 2 claws and remove the cooler plate.

    2. Swing the bottom of the duct sideways and remove the duct.

  25. REMOVE REAR COOLING UNIT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the 4 connectors and detach the 3 clamps.

    2. Remove the 5 bolts and rear cooling unit.
  26. REMOVE CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  27. REMOVE REAR ROOF NO. 5 AIR DUCT 
    1. Detach the clip and remove the duct.

  28. REMOVE REAR ROOF NO. 4 AIR DUCT
