Removal [08/2015 - 08/2016]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2015 - ] ).

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
      NOTE:

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2015 - 08/2019] ).

  3. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SEAT ASSEMBLY 

    for Manual Seat:

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] )

    for Power Seat:

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] )

  4. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SEAT ASSEMBLY 

    for LH Side:

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2016] )

    for RH Side:

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2016] )

  5. REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Put protective tape around the door scuff plate assembly LH.
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Protective Tape
    2. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 clips, 10 claws and 2 guides and remove the door scuff plate assembly LH.

      HINT: 

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    3. w/ Illumination:

      Disconnect the connector.

  6. REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  7. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH

    1. Remove the clip.
    2. Detach the clip and claw and remove the cowl side trim board LH.
  8. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH

    1. Remove the front door opening trim weatherstrip LH.

    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the front No. 1 assist grip plug LH.

      HINT: 

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    1. Detach the 3 guides and remove the front pillar garnish LH.

      Protect the curtain shield airbag assembly.

      1. Completely cover the curtain shield airbag assembly with a cloth or nylon sheet and secure the ends of the cover with adhesive tape as shown in the illustration.
        NOTE:

        Cover the curtain shield airbag assembly with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish LH is removed.

  15. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the rear No. 1 floor step cover.

    1. Remove the 2 bolts and quarter scuff plate LH.

    2. Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 clips, 6 claws and 2 guides and remove the rear door scuff plate LH.

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    1. Remove the rear door opening trim weatherstrip LH.

      Remove any remaining sealer from the vehicle body.

      Detach the 4 claws and 2 clips and remove the lower center pillar garnish LH.

    1. Remove the 2 bolts.
    2. Detach the 2 claws and remove the No. 2 assist grip.

    1. Move the front shoulder belt anchor adjuster to the lowest position.
    2. Remove the bolt.
    3. Detach the 2 clips and 2 guides and remove the center pillar garnish LH.
    4. Pass the front seat outer belt floor anchor through the hole of the center pillar garnish LH.
  30. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  31. REMOVE TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY (w/ Tonneau Cover) 
    1. Remove the tonneau cover assembly.

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure for the other rear No. 1 seat outer lap belt anchor cover.

    1. Detach the 3 claws and remove the rear No. 1 seat outer lap belt anchor cover.

    HINT:

    1. Remove the luggage compartment trim hook by turning it clockwise.

    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the No. 1 tonneau cover holder cap.

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    3. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 screws.
    4. Detach the 3 clips and 8 claws and remove the deck trim side panel LH.
    5. Disconnect each connector.

    3. Remove the 2 bolts and screw.
    4. Detach the 3 clips and 8 claws and remove the deck trim side panel RH.
    5. Disconnect each connector.

    1. Move the rear shoulder belt anchor adjuster to the lowest position.
    2. Detach the 2 clips and 2 guides and remove the front quarter trim panel assembly LH.
    3. Pass the rear No. 1 seat outer belt floor anchor through the hole of the front quarter trim panel assembly LH.
  41. REMOVE FRONT QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY RH

  42. REMOVE REAR QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Detach the 7 clips and 2 guides and remove the rear quarter trim panel assembly LH.

    2. Disconnect the connector.
    3. Detach the 4 clips and 2 guides and disconnect the rear No. 2 seat outer belt assembly LH.

      Remove the roof headlining from the back door as shown in the illustration.

      NOTE:

      Be careful not to damage the roof headlining when removing it.
