Removal [08/2015 - ]: Procedure
- DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL NOTE:
- w/ Navigation System:
After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, be sure to wait for the time specified in the following table before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
Waiting Time before Disconnecting Cable from Negative (-) Battery Terminal
Condition Waiting Time Vehicle enrolled in safety connect system 6 minutes Vehicle not enrolled in safety connect system 1 minute - When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2015 - 08/2019] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2019 - 08/2021] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2021 - 08/2022] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2022 - ] ).
- w/ Navigation System:
- REMOVE EGR VALVE ASSEMBLY
- Remove the EGR valve (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] ).
- REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17 [08/2015 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17 [08/2020 - ]
- REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 18 [08/2015 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 18 [08/2020 - ]
- REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Remove the cowl top ventilator louver (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] ).
- REMOVE WATER PIPE AND HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Single Air Conditioning System)
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 35 [08/2015 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 35 [08/2020 - ]
- REMOVE WATER PIPE AND HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Dual Air Conditioning System)
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 36 [08/2015 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 36 [08/2020 - ]
- DISCONNECT NO. 4 WATER BY-PASS PIPE
- REMOVE VENTILATION HOSE ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE RADIATOR RESERVOIR ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9
- REMOVE AIR TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Disconnect the manifold absolute pressure sensor connector and detach the clamp.
- Detach the 2 wire harness clamps from the air tube bracket.
- Disconnect the No. 2 air injection system hose from the air switching valve LH.
- Disconnect the No. 1 air injection system hose from the air switching valve RH.
- Disconnect the air hose from the air pump.
- Remove the 5 bolts and air tube.
- Disconnect the manifold absolute pressure sensor connector and detach the clamp.
- REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD
- Disconnect the No. 4 water by-pass hose.
- Disconnect the throttle body connector.
- Disconnect the PCV valve hose.
- Disconnect the purge VSV connector.
- Disconnect the purge line hose from the purge VSV.
- Disconnect the vacuum switching valve connector (for ACIS).
- Remove the nut and disconnect the wire harness from the wire harness bracket.
- Detach the 3 wire harness clamps from the 3 wire harness brackets.
- Disconnect the fuel tube from the fuel delivery pipe (Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2015 - ]
).
- Disconnect the fuel tube from the No. 2 fuel delivery pipe (Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2015 - ]
).
- Remove the 2 nuts, 8 bolts, intake manifold and 2 gaskets.TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION
Bolt Nut
- Disconnect the No. 4 water by-pass hose.
- REMOVE FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE V-BANK COVER BRACKET
- REMOVE V-BANK COVER PIN
- REMOVE STUD BOLT
- REMOVE VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY (for ACIS)
- REMOVE PURGE VSV
- REMOVE MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSOR
