Removal [09/2020 - ]: Procedure
- REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1
- DRAIN DIFFERENTIAL OIL
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1
- REMOVE FRONT AXLE SHAFT NUT
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4
- SEPARATE FRONT SPEED SENSOR
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3
- SEPARATE FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5
- REMOVE FRONT DISC
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7
- SEPARATE FRONT LOWER BALL JOINT ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12
- SEPARATE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY
- Put matchmarks on the front drive shaft assembly and front axle hub sub-assembly.
*a Matchmark - Using a plastic hammer, separate the front drive shaft assembly from the front axle hub sub-assembly.NOTE:
Be careful not to damage the front axle outboard joint boot.
HINT:
If it is difficult to separate the front drive shaft assembly from the front axle hub sub-assembly, tap the end of the front drive shaft assembly using a brass bar and a hammer.
- Put matchmarks on the front drive shaft assembly and front axle hub sub-assembly.
- REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY LH
- REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY RH
- Using water pump pliers, remove the drive shaft bearing bracket hole snap ring.
- Remove the No. 1 drive shaft bearing bracket setting bolt and front drive shaft assembly RH.NOTE:
- Do not damage the front differential case oil seal.
- Do not damage the front axle inboard joint boot.
- Do not drop the front drive shaft assembly RH.
- REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT HOLE SNAP RING LH
