Removal [09/2020 - ]: Procedure

REMOVE WHEEL ASSEMBLY

HINT:

Using a 17 mm impact socket wrench with cover, the axle hub bolts can be easily removed and installed without damaging the wheel assembly.

If removing a rear wheel assembly, release the electronic parking brake.
Loosen the axle hub bolts approximately 90°.
Lift up the vehicle.
Rotate the tire so that one of the axle hub bolt holes is at the 12 o'clock position.

As shown in the illustration, remove the axle hub bolt which is at the 12 o'clock position and install SST.

NOTE:

Make sure that SST is securely installed.

Remove the remaining 4 axle hub bolts, and remove the wheel assembly using SST as a guide.

NOTE:

When placing the wheel assembly on SST, make sure to position the wheel assembly within the area shown in the illustration and do not apply excessive force.

If the wheel assembly is placed anywhere other than the area shown in the illustration, the wheel assembly or SST may become damaged.

HINT:

Use SST to prevent the wheel assembly from falling.

Remove SST.
