Removal [08/2012 - ]

  1. PRECAUTION 

    Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2012 - ] 

    NOTE: After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work. Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2012 - ] .
  2. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 
  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
  4. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Turn the shift lever knob counterclockwise and remove the shift lever knob sub-assembly.

  5. REMOVE UPPER NO. 1 CONSOLE PANEL GARNISH 
    1. Using a molding remover, disengage the claw as shown.

    2. Pull the upper No. 1 console panel garnish in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage the 2 clips and remove the upper No. 1 console panel garnish.

  6. REMOVE UPPER NO. 2 CONSOLE PANEL GARNISH 
    1. Using a molding remover, disengage the claw as shown.

    2. Pull the upper No. 2 console panel garnish in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage the 2 clips and remove the upper No. 2 console panel garnish.

  7. REMOVE CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Pull the console panel sub-assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage the 8 clips

    2. Disconnect the connectors and remove the console panel sub-assembly.
  8. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX ASSEMBLY (w/o Ashtray) 
    1. Remove the 2 screws <F>.

    2. Pull the instrument panel box assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow, disconnect the connector and remove the instrument panel box assembly.

  9. REMOVE FRONT ASH RECEPTACLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Ashtray) 
    1. Remove the 2 screws <F>.

    2. Pull the front ash receptacle box sub-assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow, disconnect the connectors and remove the front ash receptacle box sub-assembly.

  10. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX REGISTER ASSEMBLY (w/o Ashtray) 
    1. Using a molding remover, disengage the 2 claws and 4 clips, and remove the console box register assembly.

  11. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX REGISTER ASSEMBLY (w/ Ashtray) 
    1. Remove the rear ash receptacle assembly.
    2. Disengage the 2 claws and 4 clips to remove the console box register assembly.

  12. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts <C>.

    2. Disconnect the 2 connectors.
    3. Disengage the 2 clamps.
    4. Remove the 2 bolts <C>.

    5. Remove the 2 bolts <C>.

    6. Disconnect each connector.
    7. Disengage the 2 claws and 2 clips, and then remove the console box.

  13. REMOVE NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 claws.

      HINT: 

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Apply protective tape to the areas shown.

    3. Using a molding remover, disengage the 4 claws starting from the left of the No. 3 instrument panel register assembly. Disengage the remaining 3 claws by pulling the No. 3 instrument panel register assembly by hand.

      NOTE: Do not pry the lower part of the No. 3 instrument panel register assembly. Doing so may damage the assembly.
    4. Disconnect the connector and remove the No. 3 instrument panel register assembly.

  14. REMOVE CENTER LOWER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL 
    1. Disengage the 4 claws to remove the center lower instrument cluster finish panel.

  15. REMOVE INTEGRATION CONTROL PANEL WITH RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (w/o Multi-display)  . Refer to REMOVAL [08/2012 - ] - Step 11
  16. REMOVE MULTIMEDIA MODULE RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH DISPLAY (w/ Multi-display)  . Refer to REMOVAL [08/2012 - ] - Step 11
  17. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER  . Refer to REMOVAL [08/2012 - ] - Step 4

  26. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH 
    1. Disengage the 6 claws to remove the front door opening trim cover LH.

  27. REMOVE SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL LH 
    1. Using a molding remover, disengage the 5 claws and 3 clips to remove the side instrument panel LH.

  28. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 screws <E>.

    2. Push the 2 claws in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage them.
    3. Remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly from the guide as shown and pull the cover toward the rear of the vehicle.
    4. Disconnect the connectors and remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.
  29. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 7 clips.

    2. Disconnect the connectors and remove the lower instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly.
  30. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL [08/2012 - ] - Step 9
  31. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 screws <G> and 2 clips, and then remove the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.

  32. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws.

      HINT: 

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Disconnect the connectors and remove the combination meter assembly.
  33. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (w/o Illumination) 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  34. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (w/ Illumination) 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  35. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER RH 
    1. Disengage the 6 claws to remove the front door opening trim cover RH.

  36. REMOVE SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL RH 
    1. Using a molding remover, disengage the 5 claws and 3 clips to remove the side instrument panel RH.

  37. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a molding remover, disengage the 4 clips and remove the No. 2 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.

  38. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL [08/2012 - ] - Step 8
  39. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 5 screws <E>.

    2. Disengage the 2 claws.
    3. Disconnect the connectors and remove the glove compartment door assembly.
  40. REMOVE POWER SOURCE CONTROL ECU 
    1. Remove the bolt and 2 nuts.

    2. Disconnect the connector to remove the power source control ECU.

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  43. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Pull the No. 1 instrument panel register assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage the 7 claws and 2 clips, disconnect the connector and remove the No. 1 instrument panel register assembly.

  44. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Pull the No. 2 instrument panel register assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage the 4 claws and 2 clips, disconnect the connector and remove the No. 2 instrument panel register assembly.

  45. REMOVE NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 7 claws and 2 clips, and remove the No. 3 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly.

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  46. REMOVE FRONT STEREO COMPONENT SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (w/ Front Center Speaker)  . Refer to REMOVAL [08/2012 - ] - Step 2

    1. Remove the 2 clips and No. 2 console box duct.

  49. DISCONNECT INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL [08/2012 - ] - Step 3
  50. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the clamps.
    2. Disconnect the connectors.
    3. Disengage the 2 claws and separate the cooler thermistor.

    4. Remove the 6 bolts <D> and nut <H>.
    5. Remove the 2 passenger airbag bolts <A> or <B>.
    6. Disengage the 2 clamps.
    7. Disengage the 5 claws and remove the instrument panel safety pad assembly.

  51. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLIP 
    1. Disengage the 4 claws to remove the 4 instrument panel clips.
