Brake Pedal: Removal
- PRECAUTION CAUTION: Be sure to read the "PRECAUTION" thoroughly before servicing (See PRECAUTION ).
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL CAUTION: Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag working.NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (See INITIALIZATION ).
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY LOWER (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL RETURN SPRING
- SEPARATE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS
- Remove the clip and clevis pin and disconnect the push rod clevis from the brake pedal.
- REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLY
- Disconnect the connector from the stop light switch.
- Disconnect the connector from the pedal stroke sensor.
- Remove the bolt.
- Remove the 4 nuts and the brake pedal support assembly.
