Front Bumper: Removal

  1. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  2. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH  (See REMOVAL )
  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:
    • After the power switch is turned OFF, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch OFF, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    • When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (see INITIALIZATION ).
  4. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH  (See REMOVAL )
  5. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH  (See REMOVAL )
  6. REMOVE INLET AIR CLEANER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  7. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL  (See REMOVAL )
  8. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL  )
  9. REMOVE FRONT FENDER WHEEL OPENING MOULDING LH  (See REMOVAL  )
  10. REMOVE FRONT FENDER WHEEL OPENING MOULDING RH 

    HINT.

    Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

  11. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD LH 
    1. Remove the 5 screws and clip, extension pad.

  12. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD RH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedures described for the LH side

  13. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER LH 
    1. Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 clips
    2. Partially remove the fender liner

      HINT.

      It is not necessary to fully remove the fender liner. Partially remove it so that the bumper assembly can be removed later

  14. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER RH 

    HINT.

    Use the same procedures described for the LH side

  15. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER 
    1. Put protective tape around the front bumper
    2. Remove the 8 screws

    3. Detach the clip and remove the bumper seal bracket

      HINT.

      Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side

    4. Detach the 6 claws and disconnect the front bumper as shown in the illustration

      HINT:

      Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side

    5. Disconnect the 2 fog light connectors and No. 4 engine room main wire connector and remove the front bumper
  16. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER 
    1. Remove the energy absorber

  17. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER REINFORCEMENT 
    1. Disconnect the cooler thermistor connector
    2. Remove the height control cleaner from the reinforcement
    3. w/ Headlight Cleaner System.

      Detach the 4 headlight cleaner hose clamps.

    4. Remove the 6 bolts and reinforcement.

  18. REMOVE FRONT LOWER BUMPER ABSORBER 
    1. Remove the absorber.

  19. REMOVE FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION CROSSMEMBER 
    1. Remove the 3 clips.
    2. Remove the 4 bolts and suspension crossmember.

  20. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER 
    1. Remove the 2 clips and radiator support opening cover.

  21. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER SIDE RETAINER LH 
    1. Remove the screw.
    2. Detach the claws and remove the retainer.

  22. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER SIDE RETAINER RH

    Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

  23. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER BAR REINFORCEMENT LH 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and bumper bar reinforcement
