Section 7 ((Door / Hatch)): Hood: Adjustment

HINT

  1. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL  (See REMOVAL )
  2. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE PROTECTOR  (See REMOVAL )
  3. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  4. REMOVE MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY (w/ Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System)  (See REMOVAL )
  5. ADJUST HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Horizontally and vertically adjust the hood.
      1. Disengage the 2 clamps and claw, and remove the hood hinge cover LH

      2. Disengage the 2 clamps, and remove the hood hinge cover RH.

      3. Loosen the 4 hood hinge bolts.

      5. Move the hood and adjust the clearance between the hood and front fender
      6. Tighten the 4 hood hinge bolts after the adjustment.

        Torque: 13 N*m (133 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf) 

    2. Adjust the height of the hood front end using the cushion rubber
      1. Adjust the cushion rubber so that the hood and fender are flush.

        HINT:

        Raise or lower the hood front end by turning the cushion rubber.

    3. Adjust the hood lock.
      1. Using a screwdriver, remove the hood lock nut cap as shown in the illustration

        HINT

        Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

      2. Loosen the 2 bolts and hood lock nut.
      3. Tighten the bolts and nut after the adjustment.

        Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf)

      4. Check that the striker engages the hood lock smoothly.
      5. Install a new cap.
  6. INSTALL MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY (w/ Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System)  (See INSTALLATION )
  7. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  8. INSTALL RADIATOR GRILLE PROTECTOR  (See INSTALLATION )
  9. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL  (See INSTALLATION )
  10. ADD WASHER FLUID (w/ Headlight Cleaner System)  (See INSTALLATION )
  11. ADJUST MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY (w/ Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System)  (See ADJUSTMENT )
  12. VEHICLE PREPARATION FOR FOG LIGHT AIMING  (See ADJUSTMENT )
  13. PREPARATION FOR FOG LIGHT AIMING  (See ADJUSTMENT )
  14. INSPECT FOG LIGHT AIMING  (See ADJUSTMENT )
  15. ADJUST FOG LIGHT AIMING  (See ADJUSTMENT )
