Inspection Procedure

NOTE: It is necessary to perform initialization (See INITIALIZATION  ) after registration (See REGISTRATION  ) of the transmitter IDs into the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver if the ECU and/or one of the valve and transmitters have been replaced.

HINT:

This procedure must be performed according to the PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  .

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG)
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Check the condition of the tire pressure warning light by operating the Techstream Enter the following menus: Body / Combination Meter / Active Test.

      Combination Meter 

      ACTIVE TEST

      Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Indicat Tire Pressure Warning System Tire pressure warning light illuminates OFF or ON Confirm that the vehicle is stopped with the engine idling

      OK: The tire pressure warning light is normal. 

    NG: REPLACE COMBINATION METER  (See REMOVAL )

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Check the multiplex communication system (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING ).

      OK: There is not a malfunction on the multiplex communication system. 

    NG: GO TO MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM  (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  )
