Tire Pressure Warning System: Registration

DESCRIPTION OF CODE REGISTRATION
1. It is necessary to register the transmitter ID in the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver when replacing a tire pressure warning valve and transmitter and/or the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver

PREPARATIONS BEFORE REGISTRATION

In case of tire pressure warning ECU and receiver replacement.

Read the registered transmitter IDs that are stored in the old ECU and receiver using the Techstream and note them down Enter the following menus. Chassis / Tire Pressure Monitor / Data List

If reading stored transmitter IDs are impossible due to malfunctions of components such as the tire pressure warning antenna and receiver, remove the tires from the wheels and check the IDs located on the tire pressure warning valve and transmitters (See TIRE PRESSURE WARNING SYSTEM )

When replacing a tire pressure warning valve and transmitter
1. When replacing a tire pressure warning valve and transmitter, each ID numbers of tire pressure waring valve and transmitters must be registered Even if only one tire pressure warning valve and transmitter is replaced, the ID numbers of the all the tire pressure warning valve and transmitters must be registered again Record all existing ID numbers before beginning the process to enter new ID numbers.
2. Take a note of the 7-digit number (transmitter ID) written on the tire pressure warning valve and transmitter.

  NOTE: The transmitter ID is written on the tire pressure warning valve and transmitter. It will be unable to be read after installing the tire onto the wheel. Therefore, take a note of the transmitter ID before installing the tire onto the wheel.

REGISTRATION OF TRANSMITTER ID
1. Set the tire pressure of all the wheels to the specified value (See TIRE PRESSURE WARNING SYSTEM ).
2. Turn the engine switch off.
3. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3
4. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
5. Turn the Techstream on
6. Perform the transmitter ID registration Enter the following menus: Chassis / Tire Pressure Monitor / Utility/ID Registration
7. Select the registration mode "MAIN Set".
  HINT
  - Check that the tire pressure warning select switch is in "MAIN".
  - When registering a 2nd set, select the registration mode "2nd Set" after changing the tire pressure warning select switch to "2nd"
8. Input the transmitter IDs (ID1 to ID4) using the Techstream and transmit them to the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver
9. The "ID Registration is complete" is displayed on the Techstream display
  HINT.
  - The tire pressure warning light will continue to blink until the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver receives the input ID signals
  - The previously registered IDs will be deleted from the memory when the registration is completed
  - Registration can be performed during initialization. However, the initialization will be cancelled when the registration is started

CONFIRMATION OF TRANSMITTER ID REGISTRATION

Turn the engine switch off
Connect the Techstream to the DLC3
Turn the engine switch on (IG)
Turn the Techstream on

Confirm that the data of tire pressure of all wheels are displayed on the Techstream display. Enter the following menus. Chassis /Tire Pressure Monitor/ Data List

NOTE:

*1: It may take about 2 or 3 minutes until the values are displayed. If the values are not displayed after a few minutes, perform troubleshooting according to the inspection procedure for DTCs C2121/21 to C2124/24 or C2131/31 to C2134/34 (See DTC C2121/21 NO SIGNAL FROM TRANSMITTER ID1 IN MAIN MODE; DTC C2122/22 NO SIGNAL FROM TRANSMITTER ID2 IN MAIN MODE; DTC C2123/23 NO SIGNAL FROM TRANSMITTER ID3 IN MAIN MODE; DTC C2124/24 NO SIGNAL FROM TRANSMITTER ID4 IN MAIN MODE; DTC C2131/31 NO SIGNAL FROM TRANSMITTER ID1 IN 2ND MODE; DTC C2132/32 NO SIGNAL FROM TRANSMITTER ID2 IN 2ND MODE; DTC C2133/33 NO SIGNAL FROM TRANSMITTER ID3 IN 2ND MODE; DTC C2134/34 NO SIGNAL FROM TRANSMITTER ID4 IN 2ND MODE; DTC C2181/81 TRANSMITTER ID1 NOT RECEIVED (TEST MODE DTC); DTC C2182/82 TRANSMITTER ID2 NOT RECEIVED (TEST MODE DTC); DTC C2183/83 TRANSMITTER ID3 NOT RECEIVED (TEST MODE DTC); DTC C2184/84 TRANSMITTER ID4 NOT RECEIVED (TEST MODE DTC) ).
If the IDs have not been registered, DTC C2171/71 or C2172/72 will be stored in the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver after 3 minutes or more.
If normal pressure values are displayed, the IDs have been registered correctly.
If the tire pressure values are not displayed after a few minutes, the IDs may be incorrect or the system may have a malfunction.
After all IDs are registered, DTC C2126/26 (Transmitter ID not Received in Main Mode) or DTC C2127/27 (Transmitter ID not Received in 2nd Mode) is stored in the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver and the tire pressure warning light blinks for 1 minute and then comes on. When the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver successfully receives radio waves from all the transmitters whose IDs are stored in the ECU and receiver, DTC C2126/26 or C2127/27 is deleted and the tire pressure warning light goes off.
