Inspection Procedure

NOTE:
  • When replacing the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver, read the IDs stored in the ECU using the Techstream and note them down before removal.
  • It is necessary to perform initialization (See INITIALIZATION  ) after registration (See REGISTRATION  ) of the transmitter IDs into the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver if the ECU and/or one of the valve and transmitters have been replaced.
  1. CHECK WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU - TIRE PRESSURE ANTENNA) 
    1. Disconnect the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver J49 connector and tire pressure warning antenna A38 and Q29 connectors
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below

      HINT.

      Because the coaxial cable that is used for the tire pressure warning antenna consists of a center conductor and an outer shielding layer (-), this measurement should be performed to ensure that there is no malfunction in the coaxial cable

      Standard Resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A38-1 (ANFR) - J49-8 (ANT2) Always Below 1 Ω
      Q29-1 (ANRL) - J49-9 (ANT3) Always Below 1 Ω
      A38-1 (shielded wire) - J49-8 (shielded wire) Always Below 1 Ω
      Q29-1 (shielded wire) - J49-9 (shielded wire) Always Below 1 Ω
      A38-1 (ANFR) - A38-1 (shielded wire) Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Q29-1 (ANRL) - Q29-1 (shielded wire) Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ANTENNA 
    1. Disconnect the tire pressure warning antenna A38 and Q29 connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      HINT.

      Coaxial cable is used for the antenna

      Standard Resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A38-1 (antenna cable core) - Shielded wire Always Below 1 Ω
      Q29-1 (antenna cable core) - Shielded wire Always Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPLACE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ANTENNA  (See REMOVAL  )

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK DTC 
    1. Check for a Test Mode DTC (See TEST MODE PROCEDURE  )

      Result 

      RESULT REFERENCE

      Condition Proceed to
      DTC C2195/95 is output A
      DTC C2195/95 is not output B

    A: REPLACE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU AND RECEIVER  (See REMOVAL  )
